Funny enough, that was another title I was thinking about in connection to Scream as Universal is a company that licenses out.

I would just be so happy if eventually Scream released a bunch of John Carpenter. The Fog, Escape From New York, The Thing, heck I'd even like Carpenter's Village Of The Damned which while not among his best, was still underrated.

I'd add In The Mouth Of Madness, but that one probably has a snowball's chance in hell since it's controlled by Warners.

I would love to have John Carpenter's Village of the Damned on blu-ray. Wouldn't mind the original as well (however the original is very unlikely as Warner owns it)

The more Carpenter we see on Blu via Scream Factory, the better! I'm really hoping for "The Fog" the most from his catalog. Anything else after that from Carpenter is always welcome too

So far only the only other release besides H2 and H3 that I want to get is Terror Train. But in case I haven't said it enough, I think Scream Factory is an incredible idea and if I had the extra cash I would buy all the releases just to support it. Unfortunately, this college freshman is strapped for cash.

I still have my copies of H2 and H3 at home that I haven't watched yet. I was shown them via FaceTime and now I can't wait to see them this weekend when I go back.

Are these all new? Were they ever released on a laserdisc or something? My DVD is completely bare-bones.

Personally, I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see The Thing. Or hell, even my favorite film ever, Big Trouble in Little China.

BTLT has a good Blu-ray, but all the extras were just ports I believe.

The blu-ray of The Thing is also very good. Universal did a good job on that one. I want Prince Of Darkness more than anything!

I have the UK version with more extras. The PQ and SQ on both the US and UK versions are excellent. The UK version includes the great documentary "The Thing: Terror Takes Shape" and more.

A post I made back in 2008 about The Thing:

During the first half of the movie there's a very subtle color shift: the picture goes from a slightly red tint to slightly green tint, back and forth, for about 1/2 second each (almost like a pulsating light). It's hard to see when there's movement on the screen, but more noticeable when it's still. The scene where Blair is talking to Clark, asking how long he was alone with the dog, is a good place to see it. What's really weird is it seems to stop after the first half of the movie.

Someone replied "I've noticed the same thing on every video incarnation of The Thing...even on the Laserdisc. There's an odd color shift that pushes in a slight amount of red and green."

Doesn't anybody notice that? Sure don't hear many complaints about it.

I noticed it (after reading about it) on the scene highlighted above-- it wasn't a big deal... the blu ray looked great otherwise...

The only thing not new is the commentary.

I feel like every movie has a bit of a tint.
People notice more often nowadays because they see screenshots against pure white backgrounds. The Thing's tint has probably been there since its earliest video transfers, and may even be part of the original print.

I'd love a complete remaster of The Thing with consistent color correction. Of course, purists would complain, even if they're basing everything off of flawed VHS/DVD masters.

Seconded. IIRC the Universal DVD is bare bones and that's no good. Plus, it's the final Carpenter film I intend to buy (After The Live and Dark Star).

Yeah, when I found out they left that out of the US release I was glad that I still had my Collector's Edition DVD. Plus the other features.

I wish Scream Factory could get a deal with Paramount for nothing else, if only, the 'Friday the 13th' films.

The blu is flawed too. It's got a fair amount on DNR in it, although it's not enough to ruin an otherwise good image.

Would be cool if "From A Whisper To A Scream" aka "The Offspring" was announced one day. The more Vincent Price and Clu Gulagher released on Blu, the better!

Nothing a replacement 2disc bluray case can't solve

This is a distinct possibility. The first 2 titles they announced were both from the Empire Pictures library so I'd expect this and DOLLS to make the roster. Personally, I'd rather see a new-to-DVD release before a rehash. Unreleased movies are just more exciting IMO
