Ewww, a Viewmaster? Not sure if that's supposed to be good or bad, but... sounds underwhelming.

IMO, Viewmaster has always delivered 3D at its best.

...You never had a Viewmaster?

It will end with the disk on store shelves, and/or mine.

And not a second BEFORE.

With regards multiple threads, is it just me, or is the "search engine" a bit iffy?
I sometimes will type the name of a movie followed by 3D in the Thread search box but it regularly finds nothing. Then I see threads in the forum on the same movie that I searched for...weird.

Default House of Wax 3D for 2013

Durring tonights introduction for the Dial M for Murder 3D restoration in Hollywood, it was revealed that they are working on House of Wax 3D for next year, and also mentioned hope that the 15 classic WB 3D titles would one day see a bluray 3D release.

"Hope"?...Oh, thank you, we're hoping too!

Did they mention any time frame (summer, fall) for HoW?

No, But I kind of got the idea it would be around same time next year as this years Dial M 3D release.

Hopfully not that late.

They had talked about it for a long time and mentioned it as next in the announcement of Dial M. Since they also mention having the largest collection of the early 3-d's I had hoped they would release a few others next year in addition to House of Wax.

USA House of Wax (1953) 3D - October 1, 2013

Quote:
Warner has also just made it official: The original House of Wax is coming to Blu-ray 3D on 10/1 (SRP $35.99). Extras will include audio commentary, 3 featurettes (House of Wax: Unlike Anything You’ve Seen Before!, Round-the-Clock Premiere: Coast Hails House of Wax and the 1933 Mystery of the Wax Museum) as well as the film’s theatrical trailer. For this new release, MPI scanned the film in 4K and fully restored and realigned both the “left eye and right eye” elements for optimal 3D image quality. The Blu-ray will also include a 2D version.

Default I always liked "House of Wax"

I had been hoping that "House of Wax" would be released on 3D BluRay. This was the first 3D film that I saw back in the 50's and I enjoyed it immensely. AFAIK, this is only the third 3D film from the 50's to be released on BluRay. The other two are Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder" (which I own) and "Creature from the Black Lagoon" (which does not interest me). Hopefully the video transfer will be better than the lousy job done on "Dial M.." There were a lot of bad films released in 3D in the 50's, but I would really like to see "Kiss Me Kate" and perhaps "Phantom of the Rue Morgue." Not so sure about a few of the others someone mentioned above.

I also own the 3D converted versions of "Titanic" and "Jurassic Park" and would like to see some more such, but only if the original director is closely involved. How about the original "Alien" (would Ridley Scott be interested?)

I guess most of you are ok with the cover art work. I don't normally get into that stuff but the artwork shown in this thread is pretty lame to me. I hope it's a photo shop job by some flounder.
