I'll keep my eye on this but 90 quid is a lot of money, especially when there are so many other big box sets and collector's sets coming out later this year. So it may end up being a pass, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Just like the bust that came with the collector's edition DVD, bit too pricey currently, but there might be a drop in price closer to release date.

If this comes down in price Id consider it, its one of those sets I always wanted on dvd, but £90 for a Bluray/Bluray3D/DVD set is way too much when you consider the US Avengers set is costing me £127 and comes with 10 Bluray disks, 6 films in 2D, 3 in 3D and a bonus disk along with the case and its contents...

if it drops below £50 Id be tempted, happier to see it around £40 but at £90? no way

There's been no word of a UK steelbook release. It will likely come with the standard amaray case.

United Kingdom Ebay

My fiancee went to look on amazon to put in an order for this I,Robot head. It had sold out on pre order. I asked her to check ebay and there was about 10 listed for £200-300. One was even out of the box and laid out. The rest were generic promo pictures obviously waiting for it to be released and dispatched.

So some genuine fans have missed out because a bunch of A**HOLES have pre ordered it just to sell on another venders site for big profit. I tried to get ebay to have this stopped when I found someone selling the Drive steelbook that had sold out. In the picture the had it leaning up against a pile of 20 other Drive steelbooks. They did start bidding at RRP but that takes the biscuit.

I'm sick of seeing exclusive editions being sold on other sites such as ebay. In some cases on the site it is exclusive too by an out side seller for twice the price.

The vendors don't care because they have already made their money selling them to the other sellers.

I tried contacting Watchdog to get them to look into it but I got no responce. Does anyone know how we could get this kind of thing stopped? For example new items shouldn't be alowed to be sold on any other venders site for any profit with in 3 years. Some people are obviously in a position to get hold of these things either legitimatly or otherwise, at trade price in which case they could still sell them at the original sites retail price, P&P has to be the same too.

I have brought, for instance The Green Lantern steelbook new and sealed about a month ago but only paid about £23.50. Don't know what the original price was. That I don't mind too much as it was well out of print and I didn't know about it till recently but this selling for big profit and ripping genuine fans off has to stop.

Much pead off

I agree with you. Im sure there is a team at eBay who are doing so but aren't doing enough to stop this. 3 years would be a bit long, i would minimum 6 months but for the first year prices have an inflation limit depending on the exclusivity of the item. Unfortunately, alot of man hours and money would have to be put in places to control this daily and i dont think eBay would do this as its only a small portion of products on their site.

There is nothing that can be done. As long as the item is honestly described ebay can't remove the listing and don't care anyway as they get the fees. The best solution would be for retailers to limit sales of limited editions to five per customer but they won't because they don't care who buys products or what they do with them. Its simple economics - while people will pay high prices sellers will fulfil the demand. Producers could always make more of these items but its their artificially created status as limited editions that sells them. It will only stop when customers stop buying and sellers are left with heaps of unsold plastic heads, lenticular covers and rusty steelbooks. In the meantime all you can do is make sure you order early.
