Each and every UK Blu-ray cover has a 'Blu.ray Exclusive' section, and they can't even be bothered to list the Blu-ray exclusives in it! As a result every single Universal UK release is a gamble. Should I get the UK disc, or the US disc? Based on the information from Universal you don't have a clue. I prefer to buy locally - not only is it cheaper but it makes sense to support the local company, but they're not making it easy!

Sadly, my US copy is already in the post. Well done Universal UK, another lost sale.
yeah they do not list all the extras like U-Control and such its weird so you have to gamble
So couldn't agree more with this post

That's an annoying thing that a lot of studios (even in the US) have a habit of doing. They usually clump a good deal of the special features under variants of "and much more". Which leaves you scratching your head as to wether they are as feature packed as they claim to be.

Great pictures, GavinG.

I'm upset that Amazon UK updated my shipping estimate from October 8th to October 18th.

Steel book just arrived cant believe how nice it is. Very stylish and love the art on the back and insides. Whilst I wasn't particularly favourable of the film, Kirsten Stewarts crap acting for one, I did like the style. The steel book more than makes up for anything lacking in the movie lol

I'm glad I went for the steelbook. The collectors edition looks like its filled will useless crap.

Its kinda strange that there is a collectors edition for a film that by all accounts isnt good enough to be a collectors item. Titanic...yes, Lord of the rings....yes, Snow white and the huntsman....Hell no.

^ It was one of Universal's only two successes this year (the other being Ted). It's no surprise they're milking it for all it's worth. I'm actually surprised there wasn't a US equivalent of the UK collector's set.

As for the stuff in the box, yeah, aside from the book, there's nothing substancial (they should have bundled an extended version of the score and an extra bonus features disc). However, for fans of the visuals and production design (like myself), the artwork stills make for a nice companion to the book and lovely box.

Completely agree, it's a lovely set to admire the concept artwork and stills for what is undeniably a beautifully shot film. Regardless of what people think of the film itself (ie. acting, script, etc.) the cinematography is stunning.

I was quite unfortunate though, opened my Limited Edition set to find that the steelbook was bent and chipped in the top corner. Amazon are sending me out a replacement though so all is good but such a shame as I really wanted to watch it tonight.

Keep your damaged one until you get the replacement. You have about 30 days to send the damaged one back before you get charged for it.

HMV finally sent me despatch notice for this this morning, despite being pre-ordered and already in people's hands.

Now just received a tracking number which says "invalid number". Yup they're using Hermes who leave stuff in the rain and take 3-5 days to deliver.

Sigh!

Really sorry my friend but I cant - its for Christmas so has to remain sealed for now.

I must say I know alot of the stuff listed thats inside may not be that special but you go instore and the steelbook alone is sitting there priced at £28 and this was just £7 more.

Was going to order the Limited Edition Collector's Set but Amazon.co.uk just raised the cost of it to £35! Ouch! Hopefully they will come down back to £28. I have to pay more for international shipping on top of that too!

I made an error in my original post because the web site with the tracking information from HMV was the same as that used for Hermes. But when I looked in more detail today (when HMV originally sent me the tracking number it just gave me a "tracking number not recognised" error as they seem to send out the tracking number before it's on their system) I see the courier is listed as CityLink with "next day delivery".

At the moment it says "loaded on a van" so I guess there's may be a chance it will be delivered this afternoon.

Seems odd that someone else here says it came from TNT. When I spoke to HMV about delivery issues they insisted they used CityLink for expensive items who charge them £6.50 for next day delivery and had trialled Hermes for the James Bond set for the first time only because they offered a cheaper option for 2-5 days delivery and the margins were low on that set such that they couldn't justify the £6.50 hit. Not sure how/where TNT fit into that story.
