In the case of HoND, sadly enough the average consumer with an IQ under 120 wants and needs the sequel to go with the original because "Quasimodo doesn't get the girl". Ignoring that within the film's narrative and themes it would make no lick of ****ing sense for Quasimodo to get the girl, and that the woman he ends up with in the sequel has as much personality as a floor mop.
Are you sure 120??

Excited! Hopefully it will come out in the UK at around the same time... where it will probably come out without the sequels as a separate release if recent trends continue.

I don't want, or need, it -- but if it's there, and it being there isn't costing me any more than if it weren't, I don't care. Why do you?

I thought 120 was the average, but actually it's 110. But that doesn't mean 110-120 is dumb.. in fact, "mentally incapable" starts only beneath an IQ of 80. This is as far as I know without bothering to google it.

It's mostly emotional, but here's a few points;

- The cover is split in two between the masterpiece that is the original film, and the trashy cheapquel tarnishing it, as if the two were equal.
- The sequel is of horrible quality and owning it would probably feel like having a burn mark to most Disney fans.
- The idea that a generation of kids automatically has the sequel to watch too because their parents bought the 2pacs. From my childhood I remember ALL of the Disney sequels bothering / irritating / confusing me (one might mention that Bambi II and Cinderella III are smartly developed and somewhat of a saving grace in terms of DTVs) so I would like to spare kids these movies.

Well, if "Um...don't buy them, then" seems to have been circumvented, they still haven't found a way around "Um...don't click the remote button on the other one, then". YET.

If I were a parent living in the US I would buy the 2-pack and then tell my kids never ever to watch the sequel. Altnernatively, I'd just get a region free BD player and get the UK version which will undoubtedly be a standalone.

Custom artwork...fixed.

I don't feel any physical sensations when I think about Pocahontas II sitting on my shelf, so I guess I can't relate to this. But I am a Disney fan.

You figured it out...so will they...it's all part of growing up, learning about studio greed, and forming opinions!

Some of the movies even got their own TV shows...like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. I remember watching some of those now and then on Saturday morning, when no other good cartoons were on...I don't remember if they were horrible or not. But it would be cool to have a couple episodes thrown on as bonus features. What do you think about that?

I do that all the time so yes, that partially fixes the problem.

I snorted. Ok then.

Mebbe. I dunno. I gotta say I loved ALL the TV series Disney made of their DACs (seriously, all of them) so episodes of those being included as extras I'm really really okay with. But sequel movies? No. That's just taking it one step too far.

Don't get why people care if they are there or not, when it doesn't seem like Disney would have priced it any differently without them.
Yes I "need" them all and this helps save some money (and space!!). I do watch all of them tho, and I will admit I like some of the sequels better then the originals.

This is exciting tho! And I can't wait for Atlantis either

Sometimes I'll admit I like watching the sequels, but the original will be enjoyed more and watched more by me. That's a bold leap there for what you said though! Just worried about what some people here would say!

And then they'd watch it because you told them not to, after which point, they....probably wouldn't watch it again. But at least they'd know why.

EVEN "Timon & Pumbaa"?

(And we're not counting "Bonkers" as the "unofficial" off-license update of Roger Rabbit, are we?
Although I'll grant that Hercules: the Series did help put its movie into context, and I'm with those who theorize Chip & Dale really did work for the Rescuers.)

Why does he sound like hes not 100% sure? It would say on the cover if it was a two movie collection or not.

This conversation is reminding me how none of my Disney TV-on-DVD shows have been given complete releases yet. Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Rescue Rangers...all sitting there waiting for some new volumes.

The one that hurts the most is Gummi Bears. I enjoyed rewatching that the most of all of those, and it was starting to get darn good at the end of Volume 1.

Those five are the classics for me...
Bonkers -- liked it ok
Aladdin/Mermaid -- didn't really care or give them much of a chance at the time
Hercules -- never saw it
Goof Troop -- liked it then but don't think I would now

Wuzzles -- want to see it on DVD!

I really want the rest of all those releases as well. I'm so irritated that they never got completed.

While we're on the topic of Disney kids TV shows... I really wish PB & J Otter would come out on DVD... I loved that show and have such fond memories of it. And So Weird, plus all the DCOMs I loved (Double Teamed, Luck of The Irish, Phantom of the Megaplex, Paper Brigade, Brink, Zenon, Can of Worms, 13th Year, J. Tsunami, Up, Up and Away, Rip Girls, Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire... and MANY others. Who's with me?
