United Kingdom Stretch Armstrong, 2014 (Breck Eisner to direct)

Another film based on a Hasbro toy will be released in 2014, with Breck Eisner signed on to direct from a screenplay written, at least in part, by Nicholas Stoller (of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and its spin-off Get Him to the Greek fame) about Stretch Armstrong.

Eisner, best known for directing the 2010 remake of The Crazies, has officially signed on to direct as of July 19, 2012.

Taylor Lautner, at one point linked with the lead role, is no longer associated with the project, and no other actors have been linked with the role as of yet.

It has also been announced that the film will indeed be released in 3D.

Brian Grazer is to produce, and has said that "Armstrong is a character I have wanted to see on the screen for a long time...it's a story about a guy stretching...the limits of what is possible to become all he can be."

So, there we go, folks - definitive proof that there's nothing Hollywood won't try to make a film out of

I used to have a Stretch Armstrong when I was a kid.

Never wanted to see a movie about it.

...and make it a horror movie! Imagine this:

a cassette tape is found, but nothing to play it with except Teddy Ruxpin...then the tape reveals something horrible and kills whoever plays the tape! YEAH! That'd be AWESOME!!
