There was another Bond display sitting right next to it, but it was turned around and the other side couldn't be seen because another display was in front of it. Wal-mart should not be allowed to have exclusive blu-rays.
At least your Walmart had the movies. The 2 stores near me are still completely clueless as to when they will be getting them in.

That stinks. Retail exclusives suck, period. I remember when the Jaws digibook came out at Best Buy and I couldn't find it at any store near me. Very frustrating.

Probably the only reason why I was able to get Goldeneye is because no other customers could find it.

This is ridiculous. I can't believe WalMart gets any exclusives considering how poorly they handle them. Wondering if Goldeneye and the other 2 exclusives will ever come back in stock online.

This was my introduction to the 007 franchise. I saw this for the first time in the theater when I was 11. I'm glad it's on Blu-Ray, and I hope that it gets released on 4K Ultra HD in the future.

I made the same comment in the Deals thread - ask the Walmart to look it up on their system and ask them to tell you which other stores have them. They have that information in their system.

For some odd reason, the Bond Blu-Ray stand was in the back by layaway next to the ladies room.

Stupidest place to place that stand.

BUT, I got my Goldeneye Blu-Ray but just haven't found the time to check it out this weekend.

I'm really glad there's this thread. I agree with the sentiment about not wanting to keep seeing "Mine shipped" as the latest repeated update on the Bond 50 thread.

I was collecting my favorite Bonds on SteelBook before they stopped. So I'm only interested in getting a few more singles to complete my personal Bond collection. But only on SteelBook if I can manage it. So I'm in a fricken quandary about how long I can be patient enough to wait perhaps six months for somebody to release them in SteelBook eventually or throw in the towel now and buy 'em cheap.

GoldenEye is one of them tho', and I read the so-so PQ review about it. So in a weird way, that helped to get me to not get too eager to buy that one right now. Still, it's hard just waiting for any news about when these'll come out on SteelBook, if at all. :/

Btw the only other ones I'm interested in buying are TND, OHMSS, and maybe LTK just to have a token Dalton Bond flick in my collection.

None of the Walmart stores in Illinois have GoldenEye in stock, nor any other James Bond movies. It is also not available online anymore.

What kind of exclusive is this? Anyone from the Chicagoland area been able to locate a copy?

Let it be known that Goldeneye looks very good on BD, and is a night and day improvement over the UE DVD. The screenshots had me paranoid, so I was relieved when I saw that DNR was fairly minimal compared to what I was expecting. On a 65" DLP TV, it is a tremendous improvement over the noisy, heavily-cropped DVD.

Honestly, had I not read the reviews or seen the screenshots, I probably wouldn't have noticed it as much. If you're sensitive, the DNR may still be an issue, but it's still a far cry from the Predator debacle a few years ago, and looks almost as good any of the Dalton or Brosnan era films. Could it look better? Maybe if they reduced the DNR in half, sure. But the disc I do have is the best I've ever seen the movie look, and more than watchable. This isn't damning with faint praise, but rather an insistence that you give the disc a chance.

Play.com. They do not ship outside of Europe so you will need to get into the Steelbook forum on this page and ask one of our British comrades to get one for you and you pay him to buy it and ship it for you.

The disc is the same as the one issued in the box set, ergo region free despite what any retailer claims.

Bond's always been a ladies' man, but having him hanging out in that area of the store makes him look a little desperate.

Same thing happened to me. This is why I never buy anything at Walmart.

They had the Bond movies stuck in some obscure corner somewhat near electronics at the Walmart I ended up finding them in.
