So far, I haven't had any problems with my post office delivering packages, not have I had issues with UPS. The only time things get held up for me is when Amazon ships something with the wrong shipping method.

Honestly, what can you expect from an organization that just defaulted on a 5.5 billion(yes Billion) dollar loan.
With talk of suspending Saturday delivery service, you can add 52 more days of no BD deliveries! I sure hope the USPS can get itself right, but it looks pretty bleak.

i know, its like when i told the person who delivers the mail, that there was supposed to be a package, based on tracking, they looked at me like i was stupid only cause they couldn't find it in the mail truck if you can believe it

Got back from playing golf today, and checked the mailbox. Let me see, wonder what that is under my magazines. It says UK Amazon, what could be inside? Welcome to my home theater, Universal Monsters.

Since I'm home most days, I have gotten to know all my delivery people(USPS, UPS, FedX, Laserhsip). Basicallly a little small talk, and let them know I appreciate their service.
Not only is it a nice gesture, but you never know if will help in the form of quicker deliveries, special handling, etc.

I know what you mean, kids aren't learning anything in their Taj Mahal-like schools these days ... what a waste of our tax dollars.

P.S. - The Vikings were likely the first to visit N. America, and "America" itself is named after Amerigo Vespucci, who followed up Columbus by only 4-5 years IIRC.

P.S.P.S. - My coffin won't be here until Tuesday either. But I'm not bellyaching about such a great deal. Mainly because the films will not be viewed until 10/27, the night of our annual Halloween bash. This year our ghoulish guests will be treated to a filmshow as the "background" for the party, with not much music except for necessary classics like Monster Mash, etc. We'll have our 60" Kuro in the great room, and 2 friends are bringing their 60" TV's for use in the sunroom and the dining room.

Lineup :
1 - TBD (will probably be something a little "newer" than the rest)
2 - The Invisible Man
3 - The Wolf Man
4 - The Mummy
5 - Frankenstein
6 - The Bride of Frankenstein
7 - Dracula
8 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Party starts at 4PM. Haven't worked all the runtime #'s yet, roughly guessing/hoping Rocky will hit the screen around 1:00AM or so. My neighbors hate my only (annual) party. Like I told one of them - it's my annual payback to them for their f@&ing dogs' barking all the time

to get myself in the horror mood i have been watching the arrow video horror classic collection that I got in a trade on this site. It's is a bunch of old italian and some other horror films by dario argento, lucio fulci, richard wenk, mario bava and brian de palma.
So far super impressed and i think these + the monster coffin would be the perfect halloween weekend marathon

I don't really blame the organization though. USPS is supposed to operate off of its own profits but the government treats their money like it's a piggy bank.

Blimey! Is this a box of Bangers and Mash in my mailbox? Nope. There be monsters in me house.

ETA was this Monday the 8th. Tis a nice early surprise.
