Man i missed playing this system! I got mine out of storage a few weeks ago and ended up going thru goldeneye , and It brought back some good memories
And last week I had a Ebay spree, and bought -mario 64 -waverace 64 -perfect dark -san francisco rush -rush 2 ( for the stunt course ) - Mario Kart 64 - Diddy Kong Racing - wcw/nwo - NFL Blitz - Ocarina of Time... They look like poo on the flatscreen, but its tolerable after a few hrs of play ![]() |

Now that I think about it were there ANY JRPG's on the N64? It's one of my favorite consoles of all-time but it was pretty much devoid of Final Fantasy style RPS's, mainly due to hardware limitations that caused the RPG makers to turn to the PS One over N64. The only ones on the N64 I recall were Ogre Battle 64, Pokemon Stadium and Paper Mario.

Other RPG's: There was Aidyn (which was terrible), Quest 64 (which was also terrible) Hybrid Heaven and gauntlet legends. There may not have been a lot, but there's some really good titles there like Paper Mario, gauntlet and Ogre Battle 64. Last edited by Hatter; 10-13-2012 at 09:04 PM. |

I knew it was coming out for a while before it released, mainly because I read and had subscriptions to the major mags of the time (EGM, Gamepro, Nintendo Power). The anticipation was killing me. Used to always hear rumors about Killer Instinct coming out and of course only KI: Gold did. Got an N64 day one with Mario 64 and it wow'd the crap out of me. Probably logged 300+ hours into that game after replaying the levels a lot to get each star. Unbelievable game... still probably in my top 5 or so of all time. Also loved Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye. And for anyone who wants to see the N64's capabilities, play Resident Evil 2; it's insane how they crammed a multi-disc Playstation game onto a cart the way they did.

Had an NES, a SNES, and a Game Boy, but never had the chance to get a N64 - probably as I was just about to head into college. I actually would like to find a good used one at Cash Converters or somewhere. I still remember seeing a N64 for the first time, in a Toys R Us. And who could forget this...

To be honest, I didn't have a whole lot of personal memories with the system since I never owned one in its prime but I do remember playing Super Mario Kart 64 at someone's house and having a lot of fun with it. I would also occasionally see it set up at stores and I would give it a go but I was more into the Playstation. I thought disc-based games were so much cooler than carts because they were different than the stuff I had and played before.
