Bruce Lee's legacy on blu has been totally ruined/wasted. All the Bruce Lee blu-rays look crap.

Not very hopeful but will likely get this one too. I've had several formats as well - Betamax taped from cable, VHS, video CD, DVD and blu-ray. Will likely get it in the next format as well.

You know this is something that I never understood from WB. The Saul Bass logo is part of the films it was in and as such it should be treated as a piece of film history and not just be discarded for whatever reason WB has done.

Already have this one, and it's a no-rebuy title for me regardless of whether or not it gets a new transfer with lossless audio. Still though, it'll be interesting to see what Warner does...

Really hope this end up looking as good as they deserve too. I've got all the Bruce Lee films available on Blu-ray, all that importing and they were pretty underwhelming.

I would not replace it for just that one title. If they were to make a nice release of all of his movies remastered properly like what I have for the DVD I would gladly get that however

Just curious but I thought the PQ of Enter the Dragon looked fantastic? Looks great on my plasma and light years ahead of all the fake looking cgi type movies.

Realistically, if we get two dynamite transfers (including the Theatrical) and the Ahna Capri footage in top condition we should be happy.

John Saxon and Jim Kelly on commentary would be nice and both have already been contacted regards participation.

The Capri footage is magic dust . I've seen it and although the quality was poor, the footage is awesome.

Bolo death blows, deleted scenes, Henry Wong stuff? Not a snowballs chance in hell!

I wouldn't necessarily say "fantastic," but it certainly looks good enough for Warner to not bother sinking the money into an expensive remaster (as has been stated on many other "Enter the Dragon" threads, the actual resolution of the current release is 960x1080, which is why the stair-stepping/jaggies (aliasing) are consistently evident throughout the film). Even then, I'm not rebuying this one either, and am more than satisfied with the original release despite that flaw. Plus, as someone who can easily spot them, I will say that you almost have to "fixate" on the jaggies for them to bother you, and when I'm watching this movie, I'm far too busy enjoying the beautiful production design and horrible voice-dubbing to bother . Plus, as of yet there's been no official mention that this title will be remastered, and I'd say it's possible that this upcoming 40th anniversary release could be nothing more than the current existing disc tossed into a nice looking digibook or fancy box-set.

I do know that the 2010 Region A Blu re-release apparently ommitted the "Warrior's Journey" documentary for rights reasons, but I've never owned that disc. So, if Warner does recycle one of the previous releases, it might be the more recent one. Can anyone here verify whether or not the re-release contained the exact same VC-1 transfer as the 2007 version?

Whatever the case, this isn't one of those films that I feel is in dire need of a remaster, despite the aliasing. And considering how many people already have this title in their collection (and are satisfied with it), I would be surprised if Warner found it financially worthwhile to invest in a new remaster. It seems like they'd be better off sinking the cash into bringing us so many other titles in their archives that haven't yet found their way to HD .

I have the original blu ray but i'm almost positive the re-release is the same transfer.I watched it the other day and i'm pretty happy with it,i must have untrained eyes cause i don't notice any of these jaggies you mention,but i guess thats good since you say you have to really fixate on them.

Yeah, Captveg just verified a couple of posts above that the 2010 re-release had the same VC-1 transfer as the 2007 disc.

As for the jaggies, yes, they're definitely there. Obviously, the bigger your screen, the more they will stand out, but in all seriousness, anyone who's watching on a screen less than 60" (which is easily the majority of consumers) is really going to have to "look" for them to notice. In some scenes they are worse (and more noticeable) than others, but still, not a huge deal to me.

I would find it unimaginable that Warner would re-release Enter The Dragon without re-doing the transfer properly this time around.

Really? WB are the kings of porting over the exact same disc with only changing the packaging. They have "new" discs floating around with lossy audio, Unforgiven digi-book anyone?

But thus far that's what they have usually done with most of their anniversary sets . Not saying it's an impossibility that they'll do it, I'd just be surprised if they did. I can't imagine Warner envisioning this film, which has been excessively double-dipped on (in just about every home-video format to date, including Blu-ray), would sell enough 40th anniversary edition sets to warrant a remastered transfer. And even if it did, what else is going to be on the disc to pull in new buyers? The previous releases back to the days of DVD are chock-full of extras, and it's not like we're going to get any new input or interviews from Bruce or Bob Clouse...All I'm saying is that despite the aliasing, which isn't that huge of a deal (and I notice it everytime I watch it) I can't imagine most people would see the need to rebuy or upgrade this title, unless they're that very small percentage of fans who are watching on a huge (bigger than 65") widescreen display or projector screen...

Completely different scenario. The original "Lethal Weapon 1 & 2" releases looked (and sounded) downright awful in almost every regard..."Enter the Dragon" was nowhere near that poor of quality. Plus, they re-did those first two films in order to sell them as part of the expensive box-set which included debut HD releases of the other sequels...And even then, I don't recall that particular set being a huge seller.

Fair enough, but ETD's blu was based on an HD transfer that was mastered more for DVD production and it "just happened to be" in HD for them to use. In the case of something else early in the "blu ray game", something like Blade Runner seemed to be made simultaneously for DVD and blu-ray (and HD-DVD ) which is probably why it looked far better. I dunno, the ETD blu just always had a feeling of being an afterthought.

And maybe all of this is just wishful thinking on my part.
