UV allows you to stream from ANY computer, AND, you can download a digital copy to your PC.

The UV file also downloads to ipads and smartphones so one can watch the movie when there is no internet or phone service (like when on an airplane flight).

Still, for the Extended Editions of LOTR, all of the digital copies are SD. Not an awful thing if viewing on a small phone or iPad screen.

But if you plan to use the Vudu app on a big screen TV to watch it then it's not so great. But why would I want to do that if I have the blu-ray discs? Upstairs in my bedroom I do not have a BD player, but I can watch Vudu movies on the TV in that room. There's a huge difference in the viewing and audio quality between SD and HDX.

All UV copies should be available in HDX. When viewing to phones and ipads, the file will automatically stream in SD (which makes sense).

Does anyone know if the Enya "May It Be" video is on this version? I can't seem to find it. It was on my original Theatrical Version DVD. Thanks

How about Annie Lennox doing "Into the West"? It doesn't seem to be on the original DVDs, or even on iTunes. Does anyone know if the video is on any of the versions? (DVD or blu)

What? I've watched FOTR:EE many times (I haven't watched the TE in years) and I could swear May it Be is on there. Maybe not in its entirety, but it's there.

The song is in the movie as it always was. The music video is not included on the EE.

There is no "video" of "Into the West" included on any DVD or Blu-ray release that I know of, and to the best of my understanding, there was no official "video" shot/recorded for the song to begin with. I think the closest thing you'll find, was her live performance at the Oscars...

I do hope they can commission her to do a song for one of "The Hobbit" films though, as "Into the West" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

I see WBShop.com has the Extended Edition set on sale for $65.85, which is the same as Amazon right now. Ebates has 3.5% off at WBshop, too, so it might be a decent deal for someone.

Just watched "May It Be" on YouTube. Somehow I managed to completely miss it all these years. Now I can't stop listening to it! I'm also finding myself wanting to listen to that song in the Hobbit trailer too...

Just wondering (sorry if its been posted already). But is there any difference in the individual blu-rays and the complete extended box-set edition? i.e. Do the individuals have any more/less content? Because I want to buy the extended blu-rays, but am not sure about the differences. All help appreciated.

If you're talking about the EE individual releases, then no, they have the exact same material as the EE Trilogy (except that you're buying them separately).

And yes, the EE's whether you buy them individually or as a set, have a lot more content than the theatrical edition Blu-releases.

Cheers mate, much appreciated One thing though, do you think there will be a price drop prior to the hobbit release or it'll stay a similar price.

It will definitely have movie cash for The Hobbit- and will most likely drop too.

Default BR EE Boxset vs BR EE Individual

I have a question. Does the BOXSET of blu-ray 'extended edition' includes something that the INDIVIDUAL 'extended edition' blu-rays does not? You can e-mail me your answer to yanieloroman@hotmail.com. Thankyou.

I'm not sure of the answer, but I would edit your post and remove your e-mail address unless you like a TON of SPAM. The internet bots will pick up on the e-mail address so fast, your head will spin!

What's really messed up about these individual releases is that everyone could have gotten them for cheaper than their individual prices if they had purchased the boxed sets last Christmas. I ended up getting my copy for $15, the actual sales price was $50 during the 2011 Black Friday sale. These are, what, $25 for each film?

Yeah, but they'll drop too. People who want the trilogy can still buy the box set. People who don't now have the option of spending ~$20 per film. I only bought Fellowship because it's my favorite of the trilogy, and my DVD freezes (disc spindle broke and scratched the disc).
