This the neck brace, the same one we saw before.

I think he's saying how'd they open the barn door to put the one they just caught inside without the others attacking Herschel. Only thing I can think of is they took the new walker in through the upper floor of the barn and lowered it down to the rest.

I still find it difficult to believe that no one noticed a new walker in the barn as possibly the same little girl that a recently arrived group of people are looking for. So only Otis's wife fed the walkers live chickens?? No one else went to the barn? There doesn't appear to be a lot of walkers in the barn either, 8-13 tops..

By the way
[Show spoiler]how many of you knew that Merle is back on the show this season

my guess as well, same way that they fed them.

I am guessing that they never spent much time looking at them, just went in and threw in some chickens and then back out.

Don’t forget “they” assumed these were sick deranged people. Imagine how painful it must be to see a loved one act like a rabid animal.

Unless we get an eleventh hour miracle... I won't be watching this season since Dish and AMC are having a hissy-fit with each other.

I've read the comics way ahead, though... so I know much of what is likely to transpire... but it means whenever the Blu-rays come out for this season I'll be watching them for the first time.

Now that I think about it Glenn did get a good look at the people in the barn when he accidentally discovered them that first time. You'd think he would have noticed Sophie. Though I suppose it's possible she wasn't within his sight or Glenn was just in shock and didn't pay close attention to each walker in the barn.

You are correct sir!

I was thinking that too but then I thought more about it. I don't remember seeing walkers climbing (even back from season 1 when Glenn rescued Rick in Atlanta and they went up the fire escape. The walkers didn't climb after them. They tried but couldn't do it.

Even if they did get them into the barn through the upper entrance, Otis still needed to unhook the noose from around the walkers neck and then what, push it down onto the floor with the rest of the walkers.

That's tricky stuff right there

Unfortunately Andy, you forget who we are talking about here.

This is Otis. Otis was a jack of all trades. Here is a link to my favorite IGN Walking Dead article, and I will post the best part.

[Show spoiler]Otis the Hunter: We met Otis when he accidentally shot Carl, but lest we forget, he actually was aiming for and successfully shot a deer - the bullet went through the deer and into Carl. Yes, Otis was a hunter and apparently a good one who had a way with a gun. A great talent to have in the zombie apocalypse. But wait, that wasn't all…

Otis the EMT: After Carl was shot, we learned Otis had been a volunteer EMT with the local fire department, knowledge that was integral when it came to going to get medical equipment that could save Carl's life. While Otis tragically wouldn't return from that trip (SHANE!), we still have to applaud a man who would volunteer his time to help others like that. Clearly, Otis had made sure his life counted! In more ways than we could imagine…

Ok, so Otis was Hershels Zombie Hunter/Wrangler, EMT, and Musician. So Otis was probably playing on his guitar while he was dropping zombies in the barn from the top level. Otis was a BA, too bad
[Show spoiler]it was Shane that killed him

Apparently Otis was a mythical figure who could do anything. Well... anything except go on a diet. Had he done that he might be alive.

Does anyone know how I can watch Season 3 without cable or an antennae? I live in Toronto, Canada and have a TV, PS3 and internet connection. Is that enough or do I have to subscribe to cable or buy an antennae? While I could wait for the season to be released on blu-ray, I would really like to watch each episode as it is aired (or shortly thereafter). Thanks.

Geez, I would be pissed if I payed for some of the episodes individually over the first two seasons. Some of them were just boring.

You beat me to it

I'm watching "Days Gone By" (1st episode) right now on AMC. I probably won't watch the entire marathon, but I'll be flipping back to AMC all day I'm sure.

I forgot how awesome the pilot was.

FYI: Also throughout the marathon they are showing little previews / tidbits of Season 3 as well. Good incentive to watch the marathon

I think we should compile our thoughts and hopes for this upcoming season.

Words cannot explain how excited I am for tomorrow. I have been waiting to see this since the finale of last season!

We all know that the bulk of the show takes place in the prison. The first five minutes of the season premiere has no dialogue. Andrew Lincoln was telling Jimmy Fallon that they wanted the audience to just soak up the environment and the scenery because it is truly a beautiful thing. I am going to anticipate that there is going to be a lot more walker shootouts. From the clips in the trailers and TV promos, it looks like this season isn't going to be as slowly paced as the Second Season was when they were looking for Sophia (it's actually not that slow when you watch the DVD / Blu-Ray of it, but week-by-week it is). I also anticipate that there is going to be a lot of twists and turns that deviate from the comics, etc.

As far as characters go, here is who we have:

Rick - he will not be killed off. I think he is going to take back his authority in this season, now that Shane is going (which I'm still pissed off about). I think he's going to have his own inner conflicts to battle now that the group is getting smaller. Also, Lori's pregnancy may get in the way of some things. I don't think that the writers will have him lose his hand like they did in the comics. Robert Kirman and co. regret doing it, so it only makes sense that they wouldn't do it on the show.

Lori - I know in the comics she is killed along with her baby, Judith (I think). As much as I don't like her, I don't want her to be killed off in the show, but I have a feeling that they will do it this season. I think that the episode before the mid-season break, they will have her killed off (similar to Sophia). If the baby isn't killed, Rick will have even more of a responsibility than he already does. Maybe Carol will take over the baby if Lori dies. She lost her daughter and all and Rick will be too busy defending the group and trying to find ways for their survival. I hope the baby is Shane's (I love conflicts in these shows).

Carl - He will take on more of a leadership role this season. We have seen him progress from a scared little boy in the First Season to growing stronger in the Second Season. He won't be killed off

Daryl - He is probably my favorite character on the show. He is such a total badass and he just doesn't care. He's great. There was a lot of issues revolving around whether he will be killed off or not. When they first unveiled the trailer at Comic Con, there was a zombie that resembled him or there was a clip that resembled him fighting a zombie on the ground (I don't recall exactly), but I remember there was a lot of discussion about it. I really don't want him to die. For this season, I think he's going to become a bit more distant from the group. While he will still maintain their safety, the presence of Merle will lead him off the path. I think when Merle comes back there will be conflicts with T-Dog and this will lead a split in the group. Rick and co. will try to defend T-Dog and Daryl will try to defend his brother.

Andrea - She's not even with the group now. She's with Michonne in Woodbury. I don't know much about the town from the comics, but from what I read, it's the area free of zombies. I think that by the end of the season, the Governor will be killed off (preferably by a zombie) and Andrea will leave her main group with Rick to stay behind with Michonne and look over the area. She won't be killed off, although I'm sure a lot of people would like her to be. I actually like her, she's a badass chick.

Glenn - He's probably my favorite character besides Daryl. He'll definitely take on more of a badass role this season, because he has Maggie and her family to defend, as well as his friends. I think that something will either happen to him or Maggie this season (death), because the writers of the show definitely don't want love or happiness to exist on this show

Maggie - I really, really, really, really, really love Lauren Cohan. She is a TOTAL babe. Similar to Glenn, she's going to take on more of a badass role. She'll have to do whatever it takes to maintain survival, even if that means killing. I think her or Glenn will unfortunately be killed off. I really really really hope that they aren't though.

Carol - I want her to be killed off so badly. She serves no purpose whatsoever. I do feel, however, that if Lori dies this season, she will take on a motherly role with Judith. I also think that her and Daryl are going to be hooking up

T-Dog - I know that IronE Singleton said that T-Dog will be getting more lines this season, so I look forward to that. Hopefully he takes on more of a role like Dale did, by keeping lookout. I don't really care if he's killed, but they'll probably keep him on for another season or so.

Hershel - I think his role will be very important this season. He has his own family to look out for now that he isn't at the comfort of his own home. He also has Glenn, who he likes, to worry about. I don't think he will be killed off.

Beth - She serves no purpose, but I think she will be killing a lot more this season. Hopefully she starts to realize that she is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and this is serious business. Hopefully she gets killed off.

Merle - I think the writers brought him back to shut everyone up about his return (although they did leave it open during the First Season for his return). I think his return will be followed with more hell than the group needs. He will definitely try to get some revenge on T-Dog for dropping the key. I think that the rest of the group will try to defend T-Dog, while Daryl will defend his brother, and ultimately start drifting apart from the group. I think him (hopefully) or Daryl (no!) will be killed off, so that they can finally put Merle to rest. Maybe we'll see Morgan and his son again so that we can finally go on with the series and not worry about what happened to them.

Michonne - I think her, along with Andrea, will take over Woodbury when the Governor is finally killed (probably the last episode). She definitely won't die, but who knows what lies in store for the katana-wielding warrior.

The Governor - I don't really know much about him, but from what I read, he's the head of Woodsbury, the area without any zombies and he's a total A-Hole. Like I've stated several times earlier, he'll probably be fed to the walkers by the end of the season.

If someone can elaborate on Woodsbury and what they think lies in store for this season, that would be great. Also, could someone explain what follows after the Prison and Woodsbury chapter ends?

I know it won't happen but I wish Shane was in this season and they use him on Rick how they used Merle in season 2 only a bit more often. Other than than that does anyone know if tomorrow ep is an hour or two?
