Default Best TV Drama Ever?

Pick one of them or say "Other". However, it's a common consensus that these are the big four dramas of television in terms of quality.

If you picked "Other", please specify what show you voted for. I might make another version of this poll with that show added.

I've only seen Mad Men and Breaking Bad, and I do eventually want to watch Sopranos and Wire, but I can't imagine anything ever beating Breaking Bad.

In order of what's listed:
The Sopranos
Breaking Bad
Mad Men

Sopranos is one of the best shows of all time period, any genre.

I voted Other. The West Wing tops the poll options. Hands down.

I would also put Friday Night Lights in my Top 3 with Breaking Bad.

I'm pretty much jumping on the bandwagon when I ask why The Shield, Six Feet Under, Oz, Lost, etc, weren't added. It would've been a toss up between SFU and BB for me but there's a lot of great dramas, past and present, that this list feels stilted.

Well, for the very young or others without a lot of memory in terms of the history of television it might be narrowed in this way.

I voted "other" because I think there are several TV dramas that are probably better. My choice is The Fugitive. Another show that immediately came to mind was Perry Mason.

The Wire

I can't put Mad Men or Breaking Bad on this list until they end. Although it's highly doubtful, either show could shit the bed in their final seasons.

Now, don't we grownups tell you kiddies not to use the E-word unless you mean it?
I was about to kid the OP's barely-out-of-the-21st-cty. mentality and say classic Twilight Zone, m'self.

i'm guessing that the OP maybe went with...

LOST - sci-fi
The Shield / 24 - action
Game of Thrones - fantasy

and moved other shows to other genres. in a way, almost any show beyond a full blown comedy could be seen as a "drama". don't know if this is what the OP was thinking of other shows as, so who knows.

but i agree with you, this list should be much longer than the 4 shows that are listed.

A "common consensus" among whom?

Those are certainly 4 great shows but to somehow elevate them above everything else from the past 60+ years of television? Please enlighten me if that "common consensus" includes someone other than you and your friends.
