I just got mine a few days ago myself...so far I have:

Cars
Ratatouille
Chicken Little
Phantom of the Opera
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Superman: The Movie
Superman Returns
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I'm running with a Samsung BD-P1400 that I got for 80 bucks (I love circuit city and their open box deals).

How is Armageddon? Personally I enjoy that movie, and I imagine its brilliant on Blu Ray...also, how are the pirates movies?

I don't think Armageddon is out on Blu? Is it? Anyway, Pirates 1 is brilliant, 3 was okay, and I haven't seen 2 on Blu.

To the OP, it's hard to recommend movies not knowing your taste, but if you want pure eye and sound candy, I can give you my following recommendations:

2001: A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner
Lost: Season 3
Harry Potter: OOTP
The Prestige
Ratatouille
Simpsons Movie
30 Days of Night
Man On Fire
Troy
Kingdom of Heaven
Casino Royale

You can't really go wrong with any Disney/Pixar release. Definitely the most consistent studio to date. Some people here cry biased on HighDefDiget.com's reviews, and while there are some ratings I disagree with, most of their PQ and AQ assements on discs are spot on. I tend to check our their reviews before I lay down MSRP on a new BD, so if you are interested you can check them out.

I'd recommend these to new Blu owners (a little something for everyone):
  • 3:10 to Yuma
  • Pan's Labyrinth
  • The Prestige
  • Live Free or Die Hard
  • DejaVu
  • The Untouchables (might be hard to find)
  • Harry Potter 1-5
  • Casanova
  • Stargate
  • and ANY of the Disney/Pixar titles
Be sure to check out the trading section on this forum--I've found a ton of good deals there. Also, eBay is not a bad source for deals. With over 110 Blu-ray movies in my library now, I've yet to pay more than $20 for a movie.

Let me guess, you probably thought the PQ for 3:10 was 5 out of 5, right?
