Off topic: Will the DMP-BD50 have 5.1 analog or 7.1?

I think I'll stick with the marantz regardless.

I'm pretty sure it is going to be 5.1, but I will ask.

ive heard a lot of both on the 5.1/7.1 analog out on bd50.

im praying for 7.1, but we'll see.

also, the main differences i can see with the marantz and comparable denon, is the marantz has 4 hdmi ins and 2 outs, denon will only have 2 or 3 ins, depending on model, and only 1 out.

the denons though, will have more power per channel, also depending on model.

the marantz looks great. i have the denon 3808 personally, and love it. but i cant see you being upset at all with the marantz.

haha, i did like the audi=marantz/denon=vw analogy though.

Marantz is an excellent choice! If you can afford it, get it! Comparing Marantz to Denon is very fair, but I think Marantz is a bit more on the high-end spectrum of components. You get better power supplies with Marantz, and overall a higher level of internal components. However, to truly take full advantage of Marantz components, the rest of your equipment should be of an equal pedigree. The better your components, the more you'll get out of higher end gear, in general.

I have a Marantz receiver, and I absolutely love it. My Klipsch Quintet doesn't nearly do it justice, but hey, someday....

I totally agree and understand where you're coming from, but for now the dolla dolla bill yaw tells me one component at a time.
