It looks like the movie will be in the +/-5% range of last weekend's box office take! Yay!

The official website says that the movie is already about as "wide" as it'll get.

Currently scheduled for January 2013.

It wasnt an Oscar worthy role ... maybe she should take the part in 50 Shades of Grey and put Hermione to rest forever. Still, she did a wonderful job and opened some eyes.

No self respecting actor would ever take that role. I hope you are not suggesting that females need to take sexuall roles to appear adult, because that would be extremely offensive and ignorant.

Out of the principle cast in Potter she has done the most to expand her horizons. Perks was proff of that and her upcoming roles in The Bling Ring and Noah will only further that...all while keeping her clothes on.

I finally saw PERKS on Saturday. It was wonderful! So beautiful. All three of the main actors were superb, but Logan Lerman was especially amazing. He's absolutely Oscar-worthy and it's a shame this movie doesn't really have any Oscar buzz. It's personally my favorite film of the year at this point. It feels timeless. I am definitely planning on seeing it again. It will be difficult waiting for this to get released on Blu-ray.

I give it an A+. The only movie to get a perfect rating from me so far this year.

Yep. Saw a slight increase of 0.1%. It's a really impressive hold. It only added 19 theaters. I hope it keeps it up. Here's hoping it can at least drop below 10% this upcoming weekend. Maybe, just maybe, there's hope of this catching on to a certain extent yet. Fingers crossed.

Am I the only one who feels like it will seem like an eternity before this is on Blu-ray? January seems far away, if it does indeed get released in January. I do plan on seeing it again theatrically at least one more time, hopefully two more.

You gotta let it play out in first run and discount theaters.

It used to take anywhere between 1 to 2 years before movies hit VHS and LaserDisc. Believe it or not, when Warner released Batman on VHS 6 months after it appeared in movie theaters, the other movie studios were very, very angry. They could not believe that Warner was "destroying" the business model.

Nowadays, 5 to 6 months is the average. 4 months has happened with movies that died at the box office.

Trespass, with Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman, showed up on Blu-ray a week after it was in theaters. Some movies appear in theaters, on cable TV, and on Blu-ray simultaneously. Some movies appear on cable TV before going to theaters and Blu-ray. It just depends on what the distributor thinks is best for the movie's financial chances.

I have seen it twice now. I figure if I waited a year for the movie I can wait a little longer. I watched hunger games for the first time the other day. Then again I was not super excited to see it.

Oh I know. Ha. I wouldn't want them to release it already. I want them to get as much money from it in theaters as they can first. I just loved it so much and hate waiting.

Anyway, I'm curious about something. In the book the "tunnel song" is Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. I really wonder how this would have changed the movie, most notably the ending. I swear I probably would have felt like killing myself . It would have been seriously depressing. But I like depressing so maybe it would have been better . I think I prefer the use of "Heroes." Seems to fit better. But do wonder how it would have played with "Landside."

the average is much shorter than 5-6 months. For awhile it was, but the past couple years it has been 4 months and now lately its about 3 months.

Of course there are occasional exceptions, but about 90 days from theater to home release is the norm now

Unless it is a Christmas movie. Seems like they will wait 11-12 months before it gets released. I think Arthur's Christmas gets a realse by thanksgiving. I get the point on why they do it. I don't see many people buying that type of movie in the summer time.

Yeah, those get lagged a bit for obvious reasons.

Plan on seeing this today. It's either this or PA4 but I'm going with this because of reasons.
