Yeah, they were anarchists and the leader was from a prime family of authority where he basically suffered from neglect and became what he did, but i just found the whole thing lacking a little in the end.

Jackie Chan was really good in the role though and it was a bit more edgy than his usual stuff so more of the same + the charm of old please
I thought New Police Story was really great, albeit a very difficult watch for me, as I can't stand characters who care about no one, and feel no remorse, but then a backstory was given, and the characters weren't the usual black/white crap ala Avatar, and a billion other Hollywood flicks, but people you could actually sympathize with, at least to some degree, and Jackie's acting was terrific, as was the final fight in the Lego store, but in general I like the "fun" Jackie Chan movies better.

I don't remember what the Police Story films were like.

Normally, I despise revenge plot movies.

Great but difficult are certainly as polarising as one needs to describe their experience lol. I also found it a bit difficult to stomach even with their little explanations at the end. It just lacked a little 'soul' of what Police Story is imo but i did as mention enjoy the more serious take Jackie did and it worked.

I'd actually hope he return to the older more light hearted style mixed in with the new more edgy stuff when called for though. I think he's at the stage where he could really blend the two and bring it all together.

Just looking forwards to seeing where they take the franchise now though

I just wonder if this will pick up after 'Police Story 4: First Strike', which I think it might because the poster sort of hints at it being more that way. His character looks more like the one from that series compared to his character in 'New Police Story', who looked a lot more hardened and rough. I'm just happy to see him doing a new 'Police Story' film altogether, but I really do hope this is a new story of Chan Ka-Kui.

I don't think much of the poster, but foreign markets aren't exactly known for making them conform to Hollywood styles.

I'm looking forwards to the movie, but don't know how much i'll enjoy it till a trailer lands.
