I'm sure that those sales are boosted by the fact that the PS3 is far and away the best Blu-ray player for your money at this point in time, and is the only one in the sub $1000 price range that is guaranteed to have BD-Live capability at some point. If you want a Blu-ray player right now, then you buy a PS3. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I bought my PS3 solely for it's BD capabilities and the ability to act as a media hub so I can watch HD downloads on my 46" Sammy. I have one game that I played maybe twice. The rest of my games are all on the Xbox 360. While the PS3 excels for BD and multimedia, it falls flat for gaming. Just look at those pathetic game sales for proof of that.

For the most part, I say they're missing out. Anyone who's been following along with the PS brand since PS1 and PS2 days would agree with me that PS3 is also a great gaming console as well. Truly it is. People not buying games does NOT mean the game suck. Or the system suck for that matter. Example, if someone don't buy Lord of the Ring, does that mean the movie suck? No. Last edited by Blu-Generation; 02-28-2008 at 03:12 AM. |

heck yeah, you better believe it!!! Sony is acting very smart and the shitbox should learn from this, Sony is releasing the new 80 gig PS3 with the metal gear solid and dual shock 3, Hell the best the shitbox came up with was the halo edition but NO halo???? WTF come on microsoft!!!! Hell we couldn't sell those halo 360 edition if our lives depended on it. This is why sony will keep leading in sales, even with the PSP and the blood red edition and god of war.

Little by little, the term that 2008 will be PS3's year is starting to ring true.
![]() Putting aside the PS3 for the moment: I personally I think due to the console performance that the Wii is a more respectable system then the 360. |

I personally think the PS3 will outsell the 360 worldwide this year(not so sure about the Wii but who cares) in Europe and Japan(of course) and eventually(hopefully) in America. The 360's lineup consists of Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Alan Wake, Boojoo Kanjoo 3, and Gears Of War 2 being there biggest title. Though the other games will appeal to most 360 owners, I am not too sure they will be big system sellers like Gears Of War 1 and Halo 3 were. The PS3 has too many exclusives this year that if only have of them were AAA or good, it would still have more exclusives. With a possible $299 40GB SKU this year and a MGS4 bundle, the PS3 will obviously sell much better than it did last year. The PS3 this year has games that cover most genres.
KillZone 2, Resistance 2, Haze(though I doubt its quality) for shooters SOCOM:Confrontation for tactical shooters MGS4 for stealth action GT5:Prologue, MotorStorm 2 for racing White Knight Story, Final Fantasy XIII(hopefully) for RPGs Disgaea 3, Valkyrie Of The Battlefield for tactical RPGs Infamous for action adventure Tekken 6 for fighters Little Big Planet for mass appeal Afrika, Singstar for casual gaming I expect 5 to 6 million for America and 5 to 6 million for Europe with 3.5 million for Japan. This is only my opinion, so you don't have to agree. |

All I have to say is that it amuses me to hear Microsoft's excuse regarding XBox 360 shortages accounting for the increased sales of PS3s when in fact, all of my local electronics retailers have ample supply of XBox 360's!!! They know that the XBox 360's life cycle has already reached its climax and is going downhill now!
