Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the odd looking screenshots. Looked nothing like that in theaters.

With the rating on the picture it has to be the screen caps. I can't wait to watch it. While I liked the first two Spiderman films and hated the third I thought this one was better. Why? The overall tone seems more serious and grounded in the characters. Fans have speculated the whole Gwen Stacy story arch is going to be followed and if that's the case it will require more of the actors in this trilogy than the last. If they can execute then this will be the superior trilogy.

Maybe the screenshots have been captured from the 3D disc, and it has worse 2D quality than the actual 2D disc. Just as with Underworld: Awakening (also from Sony), even the 2D review for that one had screenshots from the 3D disc, and those screenshots had terrible blacks (which was more like blue) and did not represent the quality of the 2D disc at all.

I just noticed it's the same reviewer as well. If the screenshots are from the MVC encode on the 3D disc, he should redo them from the 2D disc, atleast for the 2D review. Though I'm guessing he probably won't, since the misrepresenting 2D screenshots for Underworld: Awakening have stayed.

I'll go along with what others are saying; I saw this in digital IMAX and it looked nothing like these screen shots here. This was a very color saturated looking film so something is definitely wrong with either the screens or the encode.

This trailer represents exactly what it looked like in theaters when I saw it: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer...trical-trailer

Screengrab problems aside, I can't read the review because the reviewer doesn't seem to know what a paragraph is. I hate the nasty wall-of-text reviews they often post on this site.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it sounds like the movie won't shift its aspect ratio for the movie's finale as it did in IMAX (because it was pretty cool when it happened), but I'm still in for the 3D version. Just hoping for a reasonable price on launch week.

I saw it in Real 3D in the theater and it definitely didn't look like that. Much brighter colors than in those screenshots. That being said, the complaints in the review mirror mine from the 3D theatrical presentation. It just doesn't have any pop outside of a couple action sequences. I took off my glasses at least 10 times during the film and in each instance, I honestly couldn't tell any difference. Most of the dramatic scenes(and there are many) look 2D.

A young Peter Parker (Max Charles) is forced from his home when his father finds his study ransacked. He's left to live with his aunt May (Sally Field) and his uncle Ben (Charlie Sheen).
Didn't realize that Charlie Sheen could imitate his father so well. Charlie actually played the Lizard counterpart to Rhys Ifans character. j.k.

Kind of a low 3D score! I thought the 3D in this was supposed to be very good? I never got a chance to see it in the theatre, is the 3D really just ho-hum average?

I find this to be a bummer

You would think with all the web slinging through the big city would yield amazing results in the "depth" department but I guess not.

Who am I kidding though....I'll end up getting it in 3D anyway

The web slinging is pretty much the only time the 3D looked good. The rest of the movie may as well have been in 2D cuz that's how it seemed in the theater.

i saw the movie in IMAX 3D and loved it. i thought it was a very good movie for what it was. good sound and good visuals. while i'm not getting the 3D version (since i don't have a 3D tv) i did enjoy the 3D in the theater. i think the blu-ray got a nice review and i'm happy for the movie. it will be a day one purchase for me, in steel (at BB) please & thank you!

Hi all,

For those wondering about the screenshots, there is indeed an issue and the original batch did not pass through from disc to web page with the correct color balance. A new batch is on its way and should be posted in an hour or so. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I truly hated this movie. It was all over the place in tone, the villain sucked, and everyone acted stupid. Also, Parker was a jerk. It was just an awful film. Sure, the Raimi movies had their problems (although 2 was just fantastic), this wasn't a good movie, period.
