Default No imax open matte!!!!

This is a travesty first they cut some of the first-person web slinging scenes of Spidey that we got to see on 3d blu-ray in a trailer on the Underworld:Awakening 3d Blu-Ray. This was enough to upset me in the first place, these scenes were amazing(no pun intended). Then they release the 3d blu ray in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with no 1.90:1 IMax scenes at all. I almost want to boycott purchasing this blu ray all together until sony gets this release right! I saw this movie in a state of the art 3d Imax theater twice because it was simply incredible. I have a fear of heights and in the imax scenes the 3d effect when Spidey was web slinging was soo good my palms were sweating. I am refusing to believe that sony would damage the reputation of the 3D of one of their top tier releases. Sony please release a 3d extended (complete)edition of this great movie with the 1.90:1 IMax 3d scenes included!!! This is one of the most classic american superheros please give this title the respect it deserves!!!

i agree with you but im not really upset about it. yeah it would be great if sony did what you said, but 1) its not uncommon to include scenes in the trailer that dont appear in the movie and 2) sony has yet to give an open matte bd when a movie appeared so in imax. i kind of lost a tiny bit of faith in sony after underworld awakening. regardless, ill either pick up the steelie or the 3d lenticular set.

The "tone" is a Nolanesque take.

Again when did Parker beat up Flash Thomspon in the 70s/80s?
Aunt May was a greying 50 something?
Parkers skaterat outsider is closer to the bookworm of the Romita years
Here's one from the 60's actually.

Those other two points are straight up nitpicks on your parts. Hell, for a period during the 70's, Peter had a motorcycle while in College, so I fail to see how him having a skateboard in high school is this large leap.

Thanks for the update! Day 2!

I dont get i what comics you were reading.

Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider man read as a "darker/personal" series but overall Peter wasnt what he was in this movie.

Cool if your prefer this version but dont rewrite the myth to fit your preferences.
The tone is nowhere near "Nolan-esque." And even Nolan-esque is just Burton-esque without the macabre.

Sorry if you don't "get" what comics I was reading. And that you have no clue what "tone" means. And that you can't see how much closer the reboot was to the REAL Spider-Man. You have the awful rubbery, silly Raimi camp versions though, so you can go enjoy those. I don't seem to recall a power ranger Goblin in the original comics, or Gwen Stacy being put aside for Mary Jane, or Sandman being the actual killer of uncle Ben, but hey, let's not re-write the myth, right?

Love Nolan but you're right, this isn't close to what Nolan did with the Dark Knight Trilogy.

If you had to pick a film that matches the tone of this film closely, you could make a strong case for X-Men First Class and the first Iron Man film as close, recent examples that match the tone of this film.

Where Nolan does pop up in this film is in the plausibility factor with certain elements within the film and emotional logic on a character level. That's really about it.

But, Amazing Spider-Man ends up being it's own thing. In a really, really good way.

Thank you, Rachael, really, but I asked about any news on the exact contents. I knew already that generic info from Target that does not give you even the runtime.

Oh, okay. Yeah, I've been trying to find out that same thing for awhile now but haven't been able to find anything either.

Deleting my comment that criticized the review... That's weak, whoever did that. The images may have been fixed, but it's not like you went back in and made the paragraphs have less than 20 sentences (exaggeration) apiece.

The tone and chemistry in this movie are ten, maybe twenty times closer to the actual comics. Nitpicking little tiny differences means nothing when the Raimi films have much, much larger differences, and a goofy tone with zero chemistry between the leads.
