Some people that have good eye site can tell the difference between 1080P and 720P sets from 7 feet away. If you can afford to and you plan on seating 5 feet away I would go with 1080P. 1080P will be the standard on prerecorded HDTV movies for the next 10 years. 720P looks good but you will always be missing the best possible resolution.
im not trying to be an ***hole but some of you people never actually read some of the things you post about.

i said i had RETURNED my 56 inch because it was too big of a screen and was making me go blind.
so i am GETTING a 42 inch flat pannel lcd(LG42LC7D) and i wanted to know if you can tell the difference between 720p/1080i and 1080p ON A 42 inch lcd if you are sitting 7 feet away
