First of all who cares if it is true or not, I already KNOW that it was a rumor, second of all are you kidding me? The entire prequel trilogy was all about vader, he sure as hell was the focus of those movies. Rumor or not what is the harm in speculating?

No. Anakin Skywalker was the focus. The iconic imagery of Darth Vader took up little more than a few minutes at the end of III.

It was still his story, everyone know who he was that was the big draw, to learn how Anakin became Vader. But I guess if you are just meaning the guy in the suit then yeah he was barely in the prequels.

You yourself even just agreed that his story has been told now. We don't need a Post-Cremation "The Book Of Vader of Latter-Day Siths". ![]() Last edited by Beast; 11-13-2012 at 10:43 PM. |

Bill Nighy would be an interesting choice. But since he's already working for Disney...
![]() Robert Carlyle would be sweet. Just change the make-up, give him a sweet black cloak, and a cool red lightsaber. Done. From what I understand, he actually was considered for a role in Attack Of The Clones. Not sure if it was Dooku's or not. Quote:

Anyway guys, the movie has Star Wars: Episode VII in it's title. It will be continuing the saga. Skywalker family has always been the main story, and so it will continue to be as long as there are continuing episodes. So I believe at least Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will return, Lucas called them for a meeting in August, and so far Hamill only told reporters that Lucas told them about going ahead making VII, VIII and IX, that's it? I'm sure he was told more. They could be getting in shape right now to shoot next year.
When they mention "more movies well into the future", it will be standalones titled Star Wars: Adventures of the Sarlacc Pit, no more episode designation. |

Frank Marshall is the producer?
"I don't think it changes anything. It's still open," he said of progress on a new "Indy" movie. "But it's really on the back burner and we're not really talking about it. 'Star Wars' is next, so that's what we're focusing on. 'Indy' is back there, but nothing has changed." http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/169...marshall.jhtml But of course he knows, he sleeps in the same bed with Kathleen Kennedy. And I still think the director could be Joe Johnston. At least he hasn't deny it, more like covering up actually. |

I'm really hoping that Joe Johnston gets the reigns for this one.
According to an interview with Frank Marshall... Quote:
Of course Johnston is more than familiar with the OT... Quote:
Of course, Johnston wanted to direct a Star Wars movie that centered around Boba Fett... Quote:
I can't think of a more qualified director to do justice to the franchise, and I do like most of the movies he's done. Just hoping. ![]() |

Disney is now in control of the mothership, Lucas will have minimal input into future movies and Disney will likely pay him lip service for his "consulting" work.
Darth Vader will return in some form, he is by far the most popular character from the Star Wars universe and Disney will want his visage somewhere in the press advertising the new movie. |

While the prequel trilogy had the scenario leading up to Vader, and even outright allusions to him, you didn't see actually him until the last few minutes of the final film. Yet those first two movies (episodes I and II) still grossed ridiculous ammounts of money. All the folks putting hope in seeing a resurrected Vader in the new films are living in a pipe dream. I'd bet my bottom dollar on it...not even a flashback. You might get Hayden's (Anakin's) ghost, but "cyborg" Vader, no, it won't happen. It doesn't matter how "popular" he was. On the contrary we're probably going to get a story with a new Sith Lord that is very intriuging, but Vader...no. Everybody need to get over it. Vader's gone, and there is no coming back. |

That would just be a cheap marketing tactic which would signify just how little Disney care about quality. This is about advancing the story forward with something new and creative, not taking a step back by finding a way to bring back a character whose chapter has closed. Profiting isn't everything.

Well, to make everyone happy, they could open ep VII with a slow camera movement pulling away from Vader's Mask, progressively revealing the entire well known armor with a new variation on the Empire theme by Williams (and a very very faint raspy mechanical breathing in the background, that eventually fades away), but eventually the frame becomes large enough to see a figure in Jedi robes looking at a statue wearing the Vader outfit.
The figure shown from behind is motionless, until 1 or two other Jedis join Him, as he is revealed to be an old Jedi Master, Luke, joined by two of his students as they enter the new Hall of The Jedi temple. The Vader full size statue is there as both a sign of redemption,as well as a warning to always know that the Dark Side can be in all of us. |
