If a game gets 100 100 100 100 100 70 for 360 and 100 100 100 100 70 for PS3, the 360's average is 95 and the PS3s is 94. Does this really mean that the PS3 version is worse? This does work in the reverse. Terrible games will tend to have a higher score on PS3 than they do on 360...but nobody cares. Seriously, go count. (Almost) every single game has more reviews for 360 than for PS3 on metacritic. As a result of this actually, when the two scores are identical (Call of Duty 4, for example), this implies the PS3 game is actually a better game due to metacritic's natural handicapping of the score in favor of the Xbox. None of this is metacritics fault, it's just how it works. Much like attach rates, what metacritic does can not be applied cross platform. |
