just realized how ironic the USC vs ND game is.

at the beginning of the season it was looked at that this game would verify if one of the teams would play for the NC. and one team was ranked #1 in the country... just so happens several months ago that team was USC and now it's ND #1 and a win away from playing in the NC.

with Barkley out, and in ND, i don't see USC winning.

Notre Dame hasn't seen skill players like USC has. Barkley is out, but Wittek is a very talented kid with a cannon for an arm. I like USC for the upset with Wittek having a big coming out party.

believe me, i'd love for that to happen as that would give my Ducks some hope for still making the NC, but i don't see it happening. with a bunch of people thinking it will happen and being a night game, there's no 'surprise' for a loss, and i'm weird and i think that matters, so i don't see USC pulling the upset.

Brian Kelly is a much better coach than Kiffin, but neither he nor his players have ever seen pressure like this. It'll be very interesting to see how both do tonight. USC has the benefit of having little pressure on them tonight.

Your Ducks need UCLA to win today to really have any shot. If Stanford beats UCLA back-to-back, they'll leapfrog Oregon.

I don't think Louisville is as good as a lot of people thought earlier in the season. They have played a very weak schedule and have padded their record with a lot of easy wins.

Well congrats to Urban Meyer and company. Ohio St. finished off Michigan to finish 12-0. They'd probably be playing Notre Dame for the national championship if they weren't on probation.

It's really amazing what a difference a great coach makes. As long as he is there, Ohio State is going to be the Big 10 favorite virtually every year.

I'm so proud of my Hurricanes. They fought so hard today even though they knew there would be no ACC title game. They put their heart and souls into a great performance against Duke. We showed what we were made of. Way to go, boys!

yep. Big Ten champs every year Meyer is there, no question about it. he'll recruit like hell and get studs at every position and turn Ohio St. into what he had at Florida, only in a much weaker conference so they'll steamroll most for the next 5-8 years, depending on how long Urban stays.

• Wisconsin doesn't have a coach that can coach himself and his team out of a wet bag, so add much better players and Bucky doesn't stand a chance.
• Michigan should be real good for at least the next few years, but who knows what Hoke can bring and can sustain.
• Penn State, even without the scandal they wouldn't threaten for a Big Ten title.
• Nebraska... forgot they were even in the Big Ten. a solid club, but not Top 10 material and likely won't ever have the firepower to take down Ohio St.

is Ohio State bowl eligible next year? or is that still up the air?

surprised, as were the commentators, that they had Jim Tressel at the game. i certainly wouldn't want him there / be cheering him, at least not if i was one of the Seniors affected by his actions.
