I just picked up a vita with one of the black Friday deals. I didn't know there was a vita section on this forum! Awesome!

LOL, so did i!

That bundle was WAY too sweet to pass up. I wanted to wait a year or two for a price drop and/or a hardware revision but that deal was really good!

I have a PS3 and an existing PSN account. Is it easy to use both? Is there lots of stuff to do if you have both the PS3 and Vita?

Did you guys get the Amazon AC bundle?

I was on the fence about getting a Vita for Christmas. The $200 bundle looked really good the I saw the reddit post from Amazon Joss and that pushed me over the edge. Only problem now is I can't really play with it until Christmas!

From what I've seen so far it's a great device.

if any of you guys figures out how to successfully put digital copies or ripped movies onto the vita please let me know. I know it will have to be mpeg4 or something.

Have you tried handbrake? I used to use that to rip DVDs for my iPhone/iPod. I'm not sure if it works with Blu-ray but it's free and at the time was the program to use for converting.

It's quite easy. You use the same account from the PS3, just sign in with it on the Vita. Certain games have what's called "cross save" capability, meaning that you can play the same game save if you have both versions of the game. MLB 12 The Show 12 (and 13 next year) and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection are just two examples. There are many others.

Also, if you subscribe to Playstation Plus, which is such an amazing deal, you get games for both systems. Uncharted, Wipeout 2048, Gravity Rush, Jet Set Radio, and Mutant Blobs are all free for Vita right now.

To use MGS cross save, do we need to buy both the PSVita and PS3 versions of the game? I do have PS+ already.

I just choose mp4 and that's it. Didn't change any other setting.

Unfortunately yes. MGS came out before "cross-buy" (buy for PS3, get Vita free) was starting to get implemented. I personally didn't care, because I'm an MGS fanatic. ~$80 to play the games at home and on the go was a no brainer.

Awe that's disappointing. I'll take a look at what games do support cross-play sometime though. Thanks!

Cross-Play or Cross-buy?

There is a section in the store for cross-play so you can see which games qualify.
