Am I hallucinating, or did I watch this in 3D in a movie theater? I can't remember if I did.

Personally I feel like it's the same. Most of the time when I saw the film (I saw it three times in theater, twice in IMAX theater, once in a regular theater, although I'm not saying because I've seen it three times that I know better than anyone), I felt like Bane's voice was just a touch louder than anything else going on, from ambiance, to score, to other characters dialogue.

I could be wrong though. When I sampled it earlier, Bane was still noticeably louder, which I don't really mind all that much.

It is such an awkward cut imo. It bugs me every time
You know, I was actually watching the movie, letting it wash over me - not watching "shots" or playing critic. At this point, I'm not even sure which shots were IMAX - and I don't care. Some of these folks, not you, who whine about this scene or this movie being sharper should wake up - it's not a focus festival, it's a movie. If you're not prepared to surrender yourself to it, the magic will not be there for you. "Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream, it is not dying" - it is living! Like they say : "Be Here Now." Oh, and the movie? It was great!

I'm sure I'm echoning sentiments here, but this is one of the BEST looking BluRays I've ever seen. Watched it with my dad today on a 50 inch LED TV with a surround sound system hooked up. Great, great experience.

He might not. The theater I go to, I believe had 3-D version, IMAX, D-Box version, and regular movie version. Or maybe I'm on what he's on.

In case nobody knows what D-Box is - http://www.muvico.com/DBOX.aspx

Ive never heard anything about a 3D version of a film. Nothing in posters or trailers or other forms of marketing. And I know that the director is a not a fan of 3D at all. He won't even touch a digital camera.

There was definitely no 3-D version!

True. I just looked it up to be sure. It was probably just Imax and that D-Box gimmick the theater I go to uses.

I'm as high as he is!

I agree, I don't watch for critical stuff, but if audio sounds bad (the Alfred hallway scene, for example) or a shot is out if focus, it pulls me out.

I enjoyed this movie immensely, but poor audio mixing in the first half really took its toll on me in a way I've never experienced before.

3D sucks, especially when compared to resolution of IMAX.

Resolution > Gimmik
Substance > Fluff

I can't wait for the next Nolan project.

I just got the regular version from Wal-Mart, along with Finding Nemo. Very excited to get into the Special Features especially.

I wanted to go to the Best Buy to check out the steelbook just to see what it looked like, but they were closed. I do want to see what it looked like. I just didn't get it because I didn't have the other steelbooks and judging by what other people have said, the "Reborn" docu isn't very appealing.

I just bought the cheap edition. I have Begins and Dark Knight in regular cases as well. I bought Prometheus and Amazing Spider-Man as blind buys. Both were the 3D versions because I liked the cover better. I do not have a 3D tv. I gotta stop caring about what the Blu-ray cover looks like, its not something I should care about. Im not rich.

Anyway this is one of the best Blu-rays ever. I had a better time watching the blu-ray then when I saw it in theaters. I liked it better on second viewing also. Great Batman film. So glad I own all three now. I just need to get my hands on the 89 Batman on Blu.

The film may have a few plot holes and eye rolling moments but the precision of acting, directing, and writing completely disarm any bad moments. This is extravagant Hollywood at its very best. Having a blast watching this again.
It's nice of so many people to just "ignore" the awful moments and terrible writing... like a few "plot holes" are just no big deal. That's why we have to many bad movies these days - people's ability to praise films out of bias instead of seeing them for what they really are. I guarantee, if it was almost any other movie, the message boards would be ripping the same plot hole a new one.

I'm on the fence about picking it up to complete the trilogy. It's certainly not "Hollywood at it's finest", as you say... that would be a great film with NO plot holes or eye-rolling moments, dont you think?

Not ripping your opinion, just the hypoocritical-ness of it.

I'm always incredibly high when I watch movies so everything is in amazing 3D.

Although the IMAX scenes certainly look better, I actually really enjoy the alternating aspect ratios for some reason.

+1. This was a tough one to decide to pick up. To this day BB and TDK both have chill inducing memorable moments that I can always jump to, and really enjoy upon multiple viewings. Even re-watching the entire films is always pleasurable. TDKR really doesn't have that many great moments. Maybe the first Bane/Batman fight? The opening sequence is easily the best scene in the whole movie for the most part. At least it starts off somewhat making sense and doesn't initiate 100 side plots and have borderline terrible acting and writing. It DOES still introduce Bane's awful, over the top voice though.. So it's a tough decision. #TheDarkTurdRises

Default I now have not had a nights sleep in 2 days because of all this Batman but now more..

I knew that when I bought the BB Steelbook that there would be a draw for me to buy the 2 Steels of the first 2 movies. So today I remember seeing someone hiding a Dark Knight Steel. It was the only one I saw in the store. So I may go buy it so I can have a full collection of the Trilogy in Steelbooks. Is this insane of me? I actually see this as being acceptable vs buying all 3 exclusives. Anyway I will have to charge and put myself in more debt but if you were me would you do it? Yes I already have all the movies and even have a collector Batman Begins although it only came with one Blu Ray disc which puzzled me.

And then o God we will all have to get the Resident Evil Retribution BB steel to match the other 4 we have. This is a terrible Evil addiction isnt it?

Great post. I go into movies with the same attitude. Seems to work for me until I see a movie more than 5 times. Then I start noticing the minutae.
