I get the sense you don't have a lot of bills and/or instances where sacrificing one thing for another is very necessary.

I have a chronic illness that demands medical attention. I rack up medical bills.

EVERY product you buy - from the grocery store to blu-rays - is marked UP by the seller, to make a profit. No difference here, but it's kinda hypocritical if you think it's okay in some instances but not in others.
That's actually a flawed argument. Unless you're buying what you're selling directly from the manufacturer.

There's a huge difference between a store that sells something and someone who resells something for profit.

Why do you think there's so many stores that now actually limit quantities on collectible products. Because of scalpers.

So you get an MRI for 2 grand. You have the option to pay for said MRI out of pocket, or let's say you're able to spend 35 bucks on some Blu-ray and sell it for enough to pay for that MRI. This is to someone who has an ebay account, logs in, and pays money according to their own free will.

You're telling me you'd rather just pay for that out of pocket?

not only that but your personal beliefs on this really don't have anything to do with your situation. It was wrong of the person you replied to to assume one thing or another about you.

I would choose not to have the MRI because I don't have the money to pay for it. But if I had to choose an answer, I would not scalp the item for $2k to pay for it. I will not create demand for a system I deem corrupt and immoral. If I die because of it, so be it. I was recently in the same situation and I refused to get a CT scan because of the price and the fact I did not have the money to pay for it.

This isn't at all relevant to the ethics being discussed. Once again, the member knew about the high prices the items are going for and took an opportunity to make a big buck. There's no indication that he did it to pay off bills.

You yourself are not creating demand. The demand is there because it's a limited item in the first place.

But . . . if said person has bills, which most do, then it all goes in the same pot And once again, nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything at any price. There's nothing corrupt about it.

For those that have this thing, what's the quality like on it anyway? I know people were going nuts over the Batpod edition of TDK when that came out and that thing was kind of a turd. This didn't strike me as being any different.

Willing to die before you sell something at a profit huh? You take this reselling business WAY to personal. I really don't see why your getting so emotional over someone buying a couple blu rays to sell. Just drop it already. Your spamming up the forum

I think both editions maybe exactly the same, haven't received it yet. But it did say that the version comes with a "bonus" comic book. That leads me to believe it may have production notes etc. "but" all the text is in German... go figure.

Amazon has to sell certain at certain prices to recoup costs it paid for them. If it didn't, it'd be out of business. As far as I know, the member here did not flip the item to keep a business alive. He did it because he knew people were paying high prices for the release. He did it for greed.

Your tu quoque isn't very impressive, but there you go. At least we're having dialogue.
But you can call businesses greedy for the exact same reason. That's a slippery slope. Anything that involves buying and selling is capitalism, no matter if it's a huge company or one guy. And if people pay for it, then that's on the buyer, not the seller. The seller determines market value, because if there are 50 Fright Night blu-rays all listed for $300, and no one buys them, then that market value goes down.

I understand your point in this, but you would rather DIE then scalp? Wow.
