Default U.S. or U.K. Universal Monsters?

The U.K. box set is significantly cheaper, is there anything I'd be missing out on by getting the U.K. box of Universal Monsters instead of the U.S. release to play on my U.S. Panasonic?

From what I understand it is just the packaging that is different.

The problem isnt that your discs will scratch, rather if youll have scratched discs upon receipt. If you get a set with no scratched discs, you'll be fine.

The UK set is great. Also, anything and everything you could ever possibly want to know about any of the Universal Monsters sets is in this thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=189868

I agonized over this for quite a while. After watching numerous unboxings. And reading almost EVERY page in the Universal Monster thread, I decided to import the standard UK set. The price wasn't a huge factor for me, but rather the US versions issues with excess glue on the digibook sticking to the discs, and other reports of scratched or damaged discs. The coffin set seemed a bit to bulky for my tastes, space is limited. I also don't miss the missing extras either, I will survive not hearing a commentary or intro or whatever. The deciding factor for me was clear, I did not want to risk having glue on my discs.

As someone who owns both, I guess I like the UK version better. The packaging is over all nicer and the way the discs are in the snaper things, it protects them a lot better then my American version which has ruined my Mummy disc because of melting glue.

I am sending my American set back to Universal tomorrow.

I bought the UK edition for $43 a few months back, and put the Blu-rays into four 2-disc Dynex cases so that I will not have to open up the box set every time I want to watch one of the films.

My US box set is on the way back to Universal so they can see what the glue did to my Mummy disc when it melted all over it.

Thankfully I also own the British version, which has become my main version.

I just hope they if Universal does a set this year with some of the sequels, they DO NOT do any more of those awful cardboard sets.

any ideas on what to do if you own both the uk and usa and dracula bluray lol? thinking of selling one set but there's tons of them on ebay the us set looks so much nicer on the outside . I wonder if it would fit a 8 disc bluray case holder with the booklet and cards without them falling out and sell off the uk discs . I don't know if it even worth the trouble selling .

I very rarely preorder but the UK standard was a pretty easy decision and I've been very happy with it.

Some people here believe that their aesthetic sensibilities are molested by the sight of some ratings logos on the UK case/package
