Have you found and movies that, upon watching your new Blu copies, were not as great as you remembered them? Or, conversely, much better than you remembered?
For me, 2001: A Space Odyssey was so slow moving that it fell in my pantheon of films. Perhaps as I get older, I just have less patience for long movies ![]() I liked Cars better than I remembered. I could have been just dazzled by the incredible picture and sound, though. |

I generally like everything better due to the enhanced PQ. I always find something to like about it as a result. There have been a few exceptions, but for movies I've revisited, I tend to like them more.
I hate SWAT the first time I saw it, but managed to enjoy the Blu copy that I Netflixxed. Movies that I really liked and/or loved previously typically shoot through the roof on enjoyment. I can't even put into words how much entertainment I get out of my Fifth Element BD. |

First time I saw Cars I thought it was so so, but didn't really love it. I never bought it on DVD, but decided to get it on Blu anyway after hearing how incredible the animation looked. The second time I watched it, I really enjoyed it a lot more than first ad I'm glad to have it in my collection.

The fist time I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey was in a IMAX or Cinerama Theater, I can't recall which, but nothing has compared to that experience, and I own the Movie on Blu-ray, displaying on my 60" Sony XBR. I guess 60" can't compete with a 80 foot wide screen

Cars
I'm planning a road trip across the continent this summer before I leave. I may even hit parts of Rt. 66. But I want to see the Canadian Rocky Mountains too. I'll see how much I like Cars after that (if it in any way changes my perception of the movie). Otherwise, I thought it was an impressive animation on Blu-ray. But after that, in Seychelles I won't have a car, or at least I'm not planning on it. ![]() |
