Why admnistrators pm are blocked?

Why administrators private messages are blocked? I want to send a pm to Deciazulado and the message that appears is this:


Deciazulado has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove Deciazulado from the recipient list and send the message again.

So, who is the responsible for the administration that i can contact? Where is published the hierachy?

Moderators?

I just clicked through all the mods on this list. There quite a few people on the list who haven't had any activity on this site for several months or even a few years and are still mods. Shouldn't moderators be active on the site?

Its not required, after all they volunteer in their spare time, however it becomes overwhelming if you concentrate too much time here.

I didn't mean to imply they should be online every waking minute, but two plus years without being on the site?

Those that aren't active most likely moved on, or have other interests. The admins don't change their status as being a mod, my guess.

Sorry, but shouldn't someone contact these inactive mod's to check in on them? I mean, isn't the point of being a mod to insure that the forum is always covered. If they've moved on, they shouldn't be on the staff anymore. Whether they are volunteer or not shouldn't excuse their lack of presence in the community.

Deciazulado receives thousands of pm that can't respond, so is an understandable situation.

Remember as well that Mods (not Super Mods) only moderate specific parts of the forum. As such, they can't react to some issues. In cases like that we usually let the right Mod know and leave it in their hands. There is a list at the bottom of every forum section that shows the Mods responsible for handling any issues within that section.

If you have an issue with a Mod the best thing to do is contact a Super Mod, and Blu Titan would seem like the logical choice in that case, please feel free to do so.

For the record, anyone is free to PM any Mod at any time.

For moderation issues, it is best to use the report post function. Reporting the problem will assure that a moderator, with priviledges in that section, will receive an e-mail notification of the issue.

I think all of my closest forum buddies over the past 5 years became mods.
