For me it would have to be Live Free or Die Hard, on the trailers on TV they showed all the CG sections, it looked like the movie sucked but the CG is about 10 min of a 2hr film. Live Free or Die Hard ***/****
I was also surprised I liked Terminator Salvation ***/**** American Pie I didn't want to watch it, I can remember when my friend lent it to me, I was hurting from laughing so much. American Pie *** 1/2 /**** Last edited by Canada; 12-19-2012 at 05:48 AM. |

The Twilight movies. Caught the first one on video, have liked them all. Also plenty of other ones I've pre-judged. I can usually tell though if I'm going to like a movie or not though, and some (like most comic movies) I already know I'm going to find something to like before I see it. There was no way I was going to not like Watchmen for example, even if it was only half as good as the film that it is.

#1 - A.I Artificial Intelligence.
Though in truth what makes that movie is Teddy, how sweet the mother is, and for effect, Robin Williams. #2 - V for Vendetta. Seeing the trailer just seemed all arty and cheesy at once. The real movie was far cooler, more intense and on blu-ray I LOVE weavings voice and the overall tone/pace of the film. |

I would definitely have to say the Twilight movies. Bought the first one for my girlfriend. I made fun of her a lot and talked a lot of crap about it until she made me watch it. I actually ended up liking it and enjoyed the rest of them as well, especially Eclipse.
Smurfs, Ted, The Five-Year Engagement, Tower Heist, The Dictator and Men in Black 3 are other glorious examples. |

Spaceballs-My friend rented it and I told that I am not a fan of Star Wars but he begged me to watch it with him and I gave in and ended up laughing so hard though the movie, I still hate Star Wars but love Spaceballs
Dodgeball-I thought it was going to be a stupid boring movie but enjoyed up enjoying it and thought it was pretty funny The Others-I am not a fan of Nicole Kidman but thought I would give it a try and enjoyed the movie than I thought I would and it is one of my favorites now and the only Nicole Kidman movie I like Last edited by Love Blu-Ray; 12-19-2012 at 10:21 AM. |

Batman Begins
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings I thought all of these movies were going to be horrible based off of the previews, I had zero expectations and they ended up being some of my favorite series. For each one of films I walked out of the theater absolutely amazed ![]() ![]() |

One that comes to mind for me is X-MEN: First Class. I didn't have high hopes going in to the movie based on the trailer and it just felt like a cash grab at the time by the studio. That combined with how bad X-MEN: Last Stand was I figured this one didn't have much of a chance. I was way wrong. I throughly enjoyed the movie in the theater, bought it on blu ray and I have watched it a handful of times since. It's now my favorite X-Men movie.
