My new Dyn's came in today!
The place is a mess from unpacking and I need to do some serious reorganizing/cleaning cables up tonight. Not sure if this will be the position they stay in but you'll get the idea.

It's awesome that it looks like the tweeters are inline with each other or as close as they could be.

I hadn't really noticed that, I had an idea that would be the case when looking at the design of them. The center channel may have to come up a hair to get them perfectly aligned.

Not going to be able to listen to them for a while, they're still pretty cold from sitting in the truck.

Great looking speakers Aces, . I imagine they sound just as good as they look. Haven't had a chance to hear any Dynaudio speakers myself but would welcome the chance to.

Thanks guys I'm loving them so far!

I'm going to calibrate them this weekend and get them in their best measuring position. I'll post some better pics with everything cleaned up and looking better when I'm done. Got a bunch of cable management to do.

The C1 or C2, it depends on the deal I can swing and the money I can save up.

Are the speakers for two channel only?

I found the C1's dynamic range a bit too limited for my tastes in HT but they'd be great for a two channel system in a smallish room. For an HT/Music system I like the 5.4's better.

The C2's would be really nice, would love to hear a pair one day.

Wow aces, they look great. Does anyone know why some Dyns have the tweeters mounted so low? Always curious about it.

I'm assuming it's because the speakers are tall, putting them at the bottom puts them at ear level. I'm just guessing though as I don't know why Dynaudio does this. It sounds great though.

Yes, they will be for 2 Channel. My room is not large 10X15, so I feel the C1"s with a nice sub will be fine. But I am leaning towards the C2's. We will see.

Oh just bite the bullet, John buy the C2s and get it over with! The C2s, however, will not have as much output(spl levels) as the S5.4 but is more refined and balanced from top to bottom. But I take it you do not listen to music at concert levels and are deaf like Andrew anyway, so the C2s will be just fine in your room IMHO

In a room that size the C1's could work really well, you might not even need a sub. The C2's are cooler though.

So what does more refinement consist of?

Obviously the Confidence series uses better drivers and crossovers, is the added refinement due mostly the the better cross over?

Just curious as to what you think the differences are. Seems like Dyn is starting to tune their new models for better low listening performance.

For starters, the C2 will have so much more clarity esp in the midrange. If you think the 5.4s are neutral, the C2s are even more neutral. C2s will also have more "shimmery" highs. For your applications, the 5.4s are perfect! Perhaps look into the Sapphires and see(hear) if you like their attack and presentation.

Not at concert levels but once in a while depending on the music turn it up a bit. Need to save for a while but either the C1 or C2 are in my future.

Sapphires are difficult for me to hear, Dynaudio doesn't have much of a dealer presence in Canada it seems and zero dealers within a reasonable driving distance of me.

So with the increased resolution of the C2's I would imagine that the C4's just round out the frequency range better with added extension? Or with the additional midrange drivers is the midrange resolution and clarity increased?
