Default Star Wars on Blu-ray

I know this has been posted before ,but wouldn't it be cool if Star Wars came to Blu-ray? I am just puzzled why it has not come out all ready. -Reginthorn

wow- are you guys that retarded or new to the message boards?

this is like discussed a million times over, so to see a new thread started by another fanboy makes me chuckle. The whole "when you wish upon a star" naivete' is so cute.

Seriously, tell me this is a joke or sarcastic. Otherwise, do some research.

Um, why is it not out yet? Lemme see- cause the format war is just over and they werent gonna release possibly the most anticipated set of movies in HD not knowing which format would last.

Throw in Lucas' tendancy to keep us hanging, and its a no brainer why they arent out yet.

Someone please close this thread before it goes any further, or link it to the others

Wow. I think this thread has to be the most repeated thread in history.
You'd think noobs would learn to read but I guess they like to post first, learn answers later.

It's okay man. But what you said was an understatement. It wasn't "just" posted before. It's been posted more times than I have total posts. It's incredible how many people want Star Wars on Blu-ray save for maybe one or two people on this website.

The reason Star Wars or LOTR will not come to Blu-ray right now is the INSTALL BASE. For example, if there are 1,000 blu-ray owners. 900 want SW real bad. OR
There are 10,000 when 5,000 want it real bad. They're gonna wait because 5,000 sales is wayyyy more than 900 even if it's only half. You get what I'm sayin. We won't be seein' SW or LOTR until mid 2009 earliest. It's a bummer but we'll live. We did without it on DVD for like 7 years.

Well i don't give that an excuse.
The fact is, we have a very nice and useful search tool. You should use it before you post something new, it is a common practice for all forums. 9 out of 10 times you will find the topic you are posting about in the forums already.
We will not see SW or LotR this year. They just want to make sure that A) the quality is as good as possible. B) the install base is much higher than it is right now. C) the Blu-ray technology (i.e. profiles) are all up-to-date so they can release all the content they want.

It is really just the overall repetitiveness and waste of time that goes on
with the whole "guess what I saw on Amazon" and " i wish this" crap.

I like these forums for ACTUAL news on developments, like when are movies coming out, happenings in the industry, techno, etc. I can tolerate some specualtion, rumors, and just general expresison of opinion. Thats why they are for discussions.

But, what has gone on here lately is such a disregard for common sense that I cringe when I click on a post. Make the topic and info worthwhile.

Like, it has been known that there have been NO announcements from Universal or Paramount on BRD releases. So, dont go and throw up a thread about stumbling onto a release for a movie that the studio themselves hasnt announced, let alone the fact they have announced NOTHING to date.

So, I dont wanna hear about " OMG, Indiana Jones on BRD" and when I click find out it isnt a real story out of Paramounts camp, but some fanboy jacking it all day because they found this link on Amazon- which WE ALL NOW KNOW(most of us anyway) that they serve a variety of bogus purposes. How sad is it that this is monumental news that will be the pinnacle of their life.

I envsion them sitting in the corner mumbling like Rainman- "1 day until the Paramount Announcement. Yeah. 1 day. Underwear at K-mart in Cincinnati."

EVERYONE- AT THIS POINT- The only news worth reporting will come from an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT from one of the studios (and some insider reporting / specualtion- I know there are some moles). Can you hang on till then? Or have you run out of ideas on the D&D Board or sniffed too much asbestos in your parents basement?

Dont start a thread about "how great would it be if star wars..."
Are you f-in kidding me? Can he honestly say he didnt think this was covered?

I do my god's honest best not to start a thread without making sure it isnt a retread, and some things just have to be obvious in terms of up for discussion already.

AND YES- I want a whole boatload of these movies on BRD. I come here to see if any credible news has been announced. And, it will be something I look forward to. But can we show some restraint and just be patient. They will come some day, just like all your penises nerds !
