I like OAR but....

Just for a goof watched this with the fill the screen setting on to avoid having the imax/non imax ratio aspect ratio switching & it really wasnt that bad.

Some non action scenes did feel a little tight but the action scenes looked good.

Maybe since watching the fit to 16x9 seinfeld reruns on tv that im used to it by now.

Oh well, it's probably just the way it's chopped up, like you said. As much as I honestly love the film, I still don't think it's very fluid editing though.
Aye, gotta agree that the editing in that two second span is a black mark on what is otherwise the best action scene Nolan has ever done. Jarring transitions between shots that are to short to give any spatial context.

Can't believe the trilogy set is selling for $74.99 thru 3rd parties now. Picked up the last copy at Costco today for $34.

How is anyone getting away with that when the trilogy set is still available for like $30?

In your opinion of course. Strange that I have not heard the problems some of you are describing. Although loud and bombastic in spots, all channels sound distort free in my gear. I will say the audio on this disc is not for the timid. And if there are weak areas in anyone's system it WILL be exposed with this track.

Wow, you can import the UK version for about $50 and I think it looks better than the U.S. version.

i'd like to mention this is rated pg-13 and PG rating for canada.

theres many movies with pg-13 in US and 14A in canada.

i really wish this dark knight rises was more 14A and HARD pg-13 so nolan would film the violence more direct and visceral ....that was pretty much the only thing turned me off. the violence was too ....PG.

also he needs to get a better fighting/shooting choreographer cuz he sucks at it.

and also he lacks attention to detail like michael mann...lets say for example at the beginning, u dont even see the gun chamber move when the CIA guy fires a warning shot. it was so lame.

Those that don't know are the ones who tend to get ripped off.

That doesn't mean people are buying them for that price. Look at the completed listings on ebay for the Trilogy, most are $40 or less

I did a trilogy viewing with my buddies today and all I have to say is that it was one of the most satisfying movie watching experiences I have had. Watching all 3 movies in one sitting is like watching 1 big, very long movie. I was surprised by the foreshadowing of certain events in batman begins which happened in dark knight rises. Overall I was quite emotionally exhausted after it all. There is so much emotion to the story of bruce wayne. His journey is so vast and epic in scope. I will say this though, batman begins ties so much more back to dark knight rises, dark knight feels more like a filler in the bruce wayne story, but still great nonetheless. After watching I enjoyed and appreciated dark knight rises much more because I felt it perfectly wrapped up the story of bruce wayne. I can't stress enough to you guys how satisfying these movies are when watched in one sitting.

When I bought The Dark Knight Rises the day it came out I watched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight before watching it and it definitely works as one cohesive story arc for Bruce Wayne's journey. It's brilliant in my opinion, the way that Nolan strung the same themes throughout three movies. The ending of The Dark Knight Rises is brilliant for viewers that understand what he was trying to do throughout the entire saga. The airplane scene in Batman Begins really defines the final scene of TDKR and the trilogy as a whole. (The scene where Bruce talks to Alfred about being a symbol, more than just a man but something everlasting). It's amazing. The only thing that bugs me is the re-casting of Rachel Dawes. Yeah, Katie Holmes is annoying but the death of Rachel in TDK would have had more of an emotional impact in my opinion had it been the same person.

I don't know, maybe I'm just too peculiar about my movies but I really dislike re-castings in franchises. It bothers me, lol. But that's literally the only thing that bothers me about the trilogy. I think it's a truly brilliant trilogy and watching them back to back to back in a trilogy marathon is an absolute must.

I'm glad you agree and I must agree with everything you stated within your own post. 100% agree that the re-casting of Rachel Dawes did not gel with the trilogy and made her death less emotionally resonating. But that was no fault of Nolan's and is understandable. Otherwise this trilogy just works on so many levels. I have seen each movie in the trilogy at least 4-5 times and each time I watch them after I always pick up something I never did before which adds to my liking of the trilogy. Nolan put a lot into this trilogy in terms of story and emotion that you almost have to watch it multiple times to fully grasp everything about it. I might do a trilogy viewing of this again when the ultimate collector's edition comes out next year. Heck maybe even sooner, I feel like the only way I could watch these movies again now is through a trilogy watching.

Will be buying the regular Dark Knight Rises Release(well unless Best Buy has a Bonus Disc Package, with their already announced Exclusive Trilogy Documentary-The Dark Knight Reborn, and its not just sold separately) No need for cool packaging,or a Trilogy Set for now. Now next year with the planned Ultimate Collector's Edition Trilogy Set,that will probably be another story.

they should have signed key actors to long term deals if it was going to be a trilogy. I thought it is a no brainer. by virtue of calling the first one Batman Begins, I assumed Nolan and WB saw sequels coming

imagine Carrie Fisher walking out on Empire Strikes Back
