That said, how do you know your motion sensor in the guitar is broken? I always tilt the guitar when I play, but I don't see anything on the screen indicating that, and there's a rattle inside the guitar if you shake it. Could mine also be defective?
With regards to your drums being "off", in the audio options, do you have Dolby 5.1 turned on? If so, try turning it off and see if that helps. It helped me out. Now I merely suck at drums, instead of being completely rhythmically challenged.

Yes, it's on. Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think the audio codec being used would in any way impact the timing of the drums. The problem isn't a sync between what I hit and what I hear, but rather between what I see and what I hit. I can hit the pads at exactly the same time as the bars cross the screen, and sometimes it registers the strike, and sometimes it doesn't. It almost seems like you have to hit them decently hard--a gentle tap (like on an electric drum set) doesn't always register.

Now, on the PS3 version, what's all this I'm reading about an indicator at the bottom of the screen to let me know the guitar is tilted? All I see is the energy bar and the score multiplier?

Well, if your overdrive (the bar at the bottom) is full and you tilt your guitar... it'll go down. If it doesnt, then... your motion sensors dont work.

My bass pedal broke this weekend. I'll be signing up for a replacement tonight.

I've replaced my guitar only once so far.

It's frustrating, but... I'm thankful they're replacing the stuff for free and without question.

Oh the fun. Both me and my brother-in-law have replaced our PS3 guitars which broke about a month after purchase. His strummer wasn't working half the time and my whammy bar spring broke. Brother-in-law got a better strumming guitar but the tilt sensor doesn't work. He let it go, since the select button is more reliable anyway and not hard to press during play (Once you get use to it). As for me, they sent me a messed up guitar, that had strumming issues and the tilt sensor didn't work at all. So I simply opened the 2 up, swapped the whammy springs and sent the replacement back. While I had mine open I also swapped the bottom solo keys with the top keys. Pretty easy to do and makes a huge difference when playing hard/expert. Now I never have to move my left hand and don't have to strum during hard parts. Its wicked.

I have a question about that...HOW?! I've seen some people playing through certain parts of the songs where they don't strum...i'm a newbie at the guitar hero/rockband thing...could you explain?

My guitar had the upward strumming only problem...sent it back....did the slow shipping (the one where you don't have to give them your credit card #)...but they made a mistake and shipped me a guitar....when I sent back mine...they shipped me another one! I now have two guitars because my original one broke...woot! So far so good...
