So which is the biggest disaster, Notre Dame's performance tonight or Lou Holtz in the booth post-game? I have no idea why that guy gets paid as an analyst. Ya, he was a great college football coach, but he sucks in the booth.

Looking ahead to 2013, here are the teams big games. Notre Dame has a VERY favorable schedule. The bulk of their toughest games are in South Bend. Outside of the gams vs. A&M Alabama has a favorable schedule too. Ohio St. has an incredibly easy schedule.

I've stopped believing the hype that the SEC dominates college football, but I have completely bought in to the state of Alabama dominating it.

Random thoughts on the game...

• After the game I read that Manti Te'o had 10 tackles. My first reaction was an inability to recall a single one. What happens to his draft stock now? He went up against big, strong, quick NFL-caliber linemen and got shoved around like a scout teamer.
  
  
• Despite some kvetching over the kick-catch interference call, I think the Pac-12 officiating crew did a tremendous job last night. There were quite a number of sideline catches and as far as I can recall, they got them all correct—not an easy thing to do.
  
  
• A.J. McCarron has certainly thrust himself into the national spotlight. He's won two BCS Championships, might win another, and will be a front-runner for the Heisman next year. As his fame rises, we continue to learn more about him—not only that he's dating Miss Alabama, but that he has a bizarre chest tattoo and his mom has some...uh, chest attributes of her own.
  
  
• I know the country is suffering from SEC fatigue, but keep in mind that this was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Alabama. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

One of the guys on the Dan Patrick Show talked to Sports Illustrated's draft expert and he didn't think the game would change Te'o's stock much. The thinking was already that Te'o is not an elite athlete and lacks speed and that he'll likely end up a good but not great pro. This is a very weak draft and Te'o is still considered the top inside linebacker so he could still be a very high pick in the draft.

And on the radio they were saying McCarron's girlfriend is an Auburn grad. Not only is Alabama better on the field, they're taking Auburn's hottest woman too.

I have to wonder how things would changed had Tebow gone to Alabama instead of Florida. He almost did. Even with McElroy instead of Tebow the Tide still won a national title and beat Florida in the SEC title game in Tebow's senior year.

this is a very historic moment in college football. we are part of a dynasty! we all witnessed it actually happen and while it may continue for a few years (or decades ) eventually these Bama teams will be talked about and we can all say we saw it happen in the moment it happened.

ND was outcoached, classed, played and everything else. why Golston continued to throw to wide receivers who were smothered i'll never know. i'm a big fan of defense and seeing some of those swatted passes was amazing. amazing because of how good the coverage and amazing because of how stupid the decision was to throw the ball in the first place to someone so covered!!

really looking forward to Bama vs Texas A&M what makes it even better is that both QB's are back, and the majority of both teams are back so it's not like one cleaned house. and of course, Bama will want revenge on their lone loss of the season which was quite embarrassing, at least for 2 quarters.

amazing job by Saban to get his man-kids ready, focused, prepared and not lazy. they wanted that NC as if they never had won one before. amazing

Te'o reminds me of the A&M linebacker I think his name was Dat Nguyen. He was a great collage linebacker but an ok NFL linebacker.

USC had it's sixth recruit decommit for next year. And this one was set to enroll in classes next Monday.

While still a strong class, it's nothing compared to what it looked like two months ago. It seems a lot of the recruits are concerned about Kiffin's coaching abilities.
