I think it would be great for everyone to say their top 8 2013 predictions for Sony. we will have a close off date of January 30th. We will come back at the end of the year and see who had the best predictions!
1. New console announced and named Playstation 4. 2. New Playstation will launch at $400.00 price point 3. New System will have 500gb hard drive or higher. 4. Uncharted 4 announced, but wont be a launch title. 5. GTA 5 will have speciali DLC for PS3. 6. Sony announces DLC for The last of Us and Sony all stars. 7 Sucker Punch announces a new game unrelated to inFamous. 8 PSN will not be free on the next system. |

1.) PSN is still free!
![]() 2.) PS4 Announcement, but not released until next year at least. 3.) $400-$600 entry level price for PS4, with a key $100-$200 PS+ contract model 4.) Full system support with remote play with Vita for PS3/PS4 (to compete with NVidia's recently announced Android based handheld "Shield"). 5.) 4K video downloads with premium pricing for PS4, cuz screw blaue rae. ![]() 6.) Fix the PSN store, seriously. 7.) PS Move support might be abandoned, sadly. ![]() 8.) Possibly cure cancer. ![]() |

I realize that, but Sony put out a lot of misleading info on 4K at CES leading people to believe real 4K content is at our fingertips, but that's just not the case. Just making sure everyone knows the hard truths about 4K content, not trying to start a debate.

Yeah. I'm still waiting for Deep Color content. Sometimes that's how it goes.

Well before I get a Ps4 or whatever they call it, the following will be non-negotiable in my eyes.
1. PSN/Digital content (including full retail digital games) are carried over. Everything I purchased, got free, etc gets transferred over and I keep my same account, just having to sign in on that one. 2. None of this bullshit stuff about locking games to consoles to shutter the used game market. If they implement that into the games, then they can shove their PS4 up their asses. 3. PSN store stays free, with PSN+ ALSO carrying over into the new system. Those are just the top 3 that I can think of. |

My top:
1. Sony's next is not called the PS4. "Sony Playstation 4" is too long a title, and having the 4 at the end may intimidate new costumers. Also, isn't the number 4 associated with death in Japan? The "Sony Orbis" or just "Orbis" sounds cleaner. 2. Sucker Punch and Guerilla Games with both have launch titles for the Orbis. One will be Killzone 4, the other won't be Infamous. 3. The Last Guardian still wont be released this year. Launch title anyone? 4. Orbis will come pre-loaded with content. This was a theme at Sony's CES presentation, and is an idea that should be developed for all sony products. Maybe some Sony movies and PSN titles. 5. Planetside 2 will come pre-installed on all launch Orbis models. Speaking of pre-loaded content... 6. The game cases will see a re-design for Orbis. Think Criterion Collection sexy. Could we see a nice translucent blue colored case to compliment the Vita? 7. The little things. The Orbis will be able to support cross game chat and charge your USB devices when the system is off. 8. The Death of the XMB. If the Vita's menu is any clue, the XMB will not be jumping to next gen. |

(three and four, three has 5 letters, four has 4 letters). So I don't think the length of the title will be a problem for Sony... |

More of a wishlist, but...
I also don't think Sony will call it PlayStation 4 (PlayStation Infinite?) 1. 1Tb hard drive 2. Front and rear USB 3.0 sockets 3. WiFi N (maybe dual receiver) 4. Fully backwards compatible with PS3 (games, blu-ray, digital content, same sign in, etc) 5. All games will run in full HD, with 3D option (maybe generated on the fly by the console) 6. An HD Eyecam with Kinect style features (Move will be dropped) 7. Possibly some Android integration so a smartphone app can be used with it 8. No more than £250 ($400) I think PSN and PlayStation + will remain as they are, i.e. free and paid respectively. |

Lets see..... 1.) Sony Playstation Orbis is released in November. 2.) Orbis will have double the storage space of the current PS3 3.) Orbis will have a display screen, so high end users can see what is playing in the machine when playing music, just as high end bluray players do. 4.) Orbis will allow 8 devices to be linked to it wirelessly; such as Vitas, PSmove, PStablets, and controllers. 5.) Orbis will be seen as an entertainment hub, and have the ability to allow phones and tablets to play games through it and offer cross platform trophies. 6.) Sony will offer a disk less machine for about half of the bluray version, to help gain traction to a cloud based system. 7.) Sony attempts to use Orbis store to undercut competitors, by offering cheaper prices if you buy through their store versus iTunes or Amazon. 8.) Sony to use long term contracts to help make the Orbis slim(disk less machine) cost half as much as bluray version. |
