Here is an article explaining what 3D Blu-Ray can do with frame rates

They could release it in 1080i @ 50 or 59.94/60Hz in side by side format or Frame Packing
720p @ 50 or 59.94/60Hz. The options are there, they just need to tweek it from 48p to something a little higher.
