This could be problematic, though I'm sure someone could make it work given enough effort.

Power draw, heat dissipation, disc skipping, infiltration of dust/road grime, head crashes (from unexpected jarring/road roughness) in either the optical drive or the hdd could all be issues. I would not expect such an installation to last long. The ps3 was simply never designed for mobile use, in operation or robustness to the elements. That's not a sleight against its existing construction. It is just not designed for a car environment.
