Default Matrix Revolutions, where is a stand alone release?

Anyone know why there is no stand alone release in North America yet for the third Matrix movie? I think it's pretty stupid that Reloaded has a stand alone release but Revolutions does not.

I guess the same could be said about "Rush Hour 2".

The simple answer is nobody knows. I personally think it's cheaper and easier to just buy the Double Feature or the entire collection, but that's just me.

If you're inquiring because you like single releases and not combo packs, then I'm sure if you bought the Double Feature and swapped the discs out into their separate cases with their own printed cover art, you'd be good to go.

Should you choose this route, I'd recommend contacting Metrock. He's the best when it comes to custom cover art. He printed me out a custom cover for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (Criterion), cut it, and put it in a blank, two-disc Criterion case, and after shipping, it was only about $10. Very cheap and very affordable for great work

Why not just buy the Ultimate set? You have all the films in there, plus the Animatrix, and all the extra goodies.

huh? Rush Hour 2 has never been released on Blu-ray so that's not really the same.

If anyone absolutely needs the standalone release rather than the double feature then get it from the UK:

I agree you have to buy the full set... even if it means trading away the extras.

However, you have to make sure the copy of Revolutions isn't defective,.. some are.

Revolutions isn't popular enough for WB to release it standalone.

The way they see it, no one in the world would want to own ONLY Matrix Revolutions.

Some people only want to own The Matrix.
Someone out there might own The Matrix digibook/standalone and also want Matrix Reloaded.
Some people out there want all the films, so they buy the boxset.
Some people want all three films, so they buy The Matrix digibook, and then the 2 Movie Collection of the sequels.
And maybe someone out there wants Reloaded by itself, without the Matrix.

Revolutions is the least popular of the 3, and the least critically acclaimed.

WB sees a standalone Revolutions existing only for:
- People who hated the first two, but loved the third one.
- People who hate The Matrix Reloaded.

I do see how it's frustrating, but WB is running a business and they'd probably lose money selling Revolutions by itself. It'd be like selling Superman III or Star Wars Episode II standalone.

The Matrix Collection is only $25 on Amazon right now, so if you want Revolutions in its own case(albeit slim), nows your chance. I already own The Matrix, but for $25(which is what I paid for The Matrix digibook by itself!) that's a huge bargain. I've never even seen Revolutions, but I've been waiting for a price drop like this so I could own The Animatrix along with all those special features.

Because it's the second half of Reloaded, so naturally putting it in a cheap double feature with the previous film is the best decision. Isn't the double feature like $7.99 anyway?

No, $22 on Amazon, but third parties have it for around $10.

Currently on BBY's site for $8.99. It was $14.99 last week & it has been as low as $7.99 in the past.
