I think I will wait a bit more for them to hopefully make it able to decode DTS MA, otherwise I agree, gonna have to get a standalone which would be sad, my PS3 wouldn't get much love if that has to happen.

2.17 is out now. I just turned on the PS3 to watch a movie and saw that an update is available. Looking now to find out what's in the update.

I just checked the PS3 site and they don't have it listed yet so no clue what's in the update.

Edit: Actually, it's done already (downloading, not installing that is). Must not have been a huge update.

I checked the audio settings, and it doesn't appear to be that. No idea what it could be. Everyone on the PS3 boards are baffled too.

Yeah, it didn't mention anything and so far I don't see any changes. Pretty sure it's not a BD-Live update since I started a movie and on my other PS3 saw that I went offline when the movie started. I'd except BD-Live to keep the network connection active while a movie is playing.

Maybe it's a bug fix for a recently released movie or an upcoming game/movie.
