I'm guessing it'll just be a split cover of the original poster art for Town and The Evictors (sans slipcover and CE banner), assuming we get a double-feature disc.

I mean that there are multiple original posters for TTDS , so I'm curios which one they will chose.

And Cliff has already practically said that it will be single, as he hasn't decided what to do with The Evictors yet.

Here's hoping the announcements start up again soon...

This thread used be 24/7 posts, but its slowed down since the announcements. I wanna keep Scream relevant to fans, and I think the announcements would help. Maybe a designated day of the month? Every OTHER week. Something regular though.

Same here buddy. I'm less baffled than I used to be, probably because I notice it more and more these days, offline and online.

I'd even go as far to say that with each passing year, the current average horror fan is only going to go as far back as 1990 and so on. A podcast I listen to is a pair of guys only 5 or so years younger than me (almost 28 myself) and they like almost nothing pre-90's, except for the usual notable handful that people bring up. I listen to them because they review newer titles, but it is just crazy what they haven't seen or will refuse to see.

Real life friends my age simply don't watch anything pre 1980 unless it is...you guessed it, Halloween, The Exorcist, Jaws.

There is almost no one I can share love I have for black and white stuff. My girl isn't a horror fan, but she can at least appreciate some of that kind of stuff since it is tamer. I can watch 70's stuff like Hammer titles or anything gothic with my uncle because he's of that age. He's like 15 years older than me so he grew up with some of that stuff.

There are a lot of different horror fans and the ones like myself and by the sound of it, you, are few and far between. I'm totally devoted to the genre and while there is plenty I haven't seen, there's no limit how far back into its history I will go. Others simply don't care...they can't do silent films, black and white, and the slower paced movies of the pre-80's. A friend at work is about 21 and I think the oldest horror film he's seen is The Exorcist.

But hey, like any passion, it takes a lot of time and interest to devote yourself to it. I look at where I am at 28 compared to when I was 21 and it is night and day with how much I've really dug into the genre's history since then.

Hell yes. Best horror podcast out there imo. That was a fun episode.

To keep myself on the topic itself, I will definitely be picking up many of these titles to add to the others I've already bought.

Wow. For a horror podcast to ignore 90% of horror films (including almost all the good ones) is just absurd. What do they even talk about then, Saw sequels and 'reboots'? How depressing...

As someone who is only twenty, I much prefer old horror to new horror by far.

In the Carrie thread, Cliff mentions that they did look into acquiring it:

Over in the Insider thread, Cliff said LG owns Parents. Wasn't there a post at one point listing all of the films Cliff shot down? It might be beneficial to repost/recompile that list, and include Parents and Carrie.

I never liked it.
Now if Scream Factory acquires it and releases it then I will have to face a dilemma as I wanted to get all their releases

Interesting thing about Carrie. I would never have thought the film was a possibility for Shout as it's a big catalog title. I guess this means pretty much anything is a possibility, with few exceptions. I know MGM would NEVER license something like The Great Escape or It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. As for Carrie, would a restoration ever get rid of that haze that permeates the film? Everything has an overexposed look to it, even the nighttime scenes. It;s ugly.

Never say never in the world of home video.

Carrie was shot that way. You guys need to get over it, it's been nearly 40 years already. It's hazy. It's always been hazy. It's always gonna be hazy.

A lot of times, it is something I can't help but listen to because of the fact that it is so outlandish. But the newer stuff they cover is mostly independent stuff and lesser known brand new films, with the occassional horrible mainstream release like Texas Chainsaw 3D featured. I listen to a lot of podcasts and sometimes I just want to hear a long discussion about newer movies like Grave Encounters.

I can only handle it in small doses though lol.

I enjoy listening to Terror Transmission, but they're more commentaries (with intros) than podcast discussions.

Thanks! Maybe a mod could place that list (with spoiler tags) in the first post of this thread, to cut down on future redundant lists or requests?

I like Terror Transmission way more because they cover a ton of really old stuff. Terror Transmission knows its shit and it really feels like they use the two weeks between episodes to research every last detail about the film of the week. The only thing I don't like about them is that it sounds like they don't bother watching any modern horror at all and they can be pretty snobby.

I know what you mean, it just kills me sometimes because they're missing out on some great stuff, much like how these younger guys are missing out on older stuff Don't get me wrong though, I like picturing them sitting there have a fine drink and being sounding like scholars.

It's all good though. I probably listen to about 15 different podcasts and they all suit different needs. Some focus on the old, some on the new, some are just plain well rounded like Horroretc, some are dead serious, and some are pretty funny.

I'm completely open to watching well-reviewed new horror films - Woman in Black, Innkeepers, Let the Right One In/Let Me in - it's just that there are so few of them, and most new horror films are either rote, bland (and inevitably inferior) remakes or repugnant, artless torture porn.

Agreed on that. Women in Black, Let the Right One In/Let Me In were great, I will add Cabin in the Woods on my end

Cabin in the Woods was one that I had a lot of fun with (except for the weak CGI during the 'Destroy all Monsters' climax), especially as I knew almost nothing going in. Sadly, that kind of original and innovative horror film is a rarity.
