I am hoping the chick who plays Mary Jane in the future is top notch. It is going to be hard to top Emma Stone!

I agree with the first statement. After seeing Amazing Spiderman I tried to go back and watch Spiderman. The movie felt very dated and rushed compared to Amazing Spiderman. I did get a lot of crap from people for this but I thought Amazing Spiderman was one of my favorite superhero movies EVER. This is the film that should have been done in 2001

It wasn't bad but I just don't like the actor who plays Spider-Man. Just seems way too immature compared to the other Spider-Man. I thought it was a good movie for kids while the older Spider-Man felt more serious and mature.

With Dafoe as The Green Goblin?? I'm just going to assume you're from a parallel universe.

The Raimi films are to Spider-Man as Burton's Batman was to Batman. This is analogous to Batman Begins for the franchise.

I was talking about the actors who play Spider-Man, not dafoe or anybody else.

Really? is that why Raimis films got better ratings (minus the third one) than The Amazing Spider-Man. I understand that the Amazing Spider-Man is more true to the comic book but I don't care about that stuff.

yeah I always found the Tobey films to be really goofy. I heard this new Spiderman was so angsty and Twilight'ish but I didn't see much of that thankfully.

This is a nice balance. Everyone i watched it with loved it too. Definitely impressed with the Amazing Spiderman.

It's a real shame that the most visually striking piece was left out of the final film. It can't even be found in the deleted scenes.

Screenshot from the teaser trailer :

I would have loved it if that pier scene was included in the Coldplay montage.

Why are they gonna release another version in 4K? Should've been done from the start... In addition, is Emma Stinw not reprising her role for the Spider-Man sequal?

Emma Stone plays Gwen Stacy. If you know Gwen Stacy's history in the comics, you'll know that sooner or later, Emma Stone will probably exit the series. That's why Shailene Woodley is joining the cast as Mary Jane Watson.

Because they can. I agree they should have released the 4K version from the start but it probably wasn't ready in November when the other versions were released. Would have to have a 4K bluray player & tv to get the full benefit out of the discs anyways. Until it becomes the norm for every bluray release I'm perfectly content with my standard high definition blurays as long as I can still afford movies in general.

uhhhh, they aren't... all they're doing is releasing it under their "mastered in 4K" series (and since the amazing spiderman was ALREADY mastered in 4K all they are doing is repackaging it. like the rest of the initial batch of mastered in 4K titles

It wouldn't just be a simple repackage. Yes, the already-released version was mastered in 4K but with this one, they'd probably max out the bitrate with static menus, etc. Still I can't imagine the difference to be that WILD, as it looks great already.

You think a slightly higher bitrate using the exact same 4K master is going to yield amazing (pun intended) results compared to the original release a few months ago? Sony loves people like you.
