Ah sorry, didn't realize. I thought it's already out of a theatrical release window.

I agree! I really want to see Good Bye Lenin on Blu. It might be possible. It is a Sony title afterall.

I'd like to see "Zentropa" and "Hamsum" on blu, although I'm not certain that either would strictly qualify as "German Cinema". I think both were made by a consortium of European companies.

I think Ernst Jacobi's brief portrayal of Hitler in "Hamsum" creeped me out more than any other performance of Hitler that I've ever seen, although there's no doubt that Ganz was quite good in "Downfall".

Never heard of either, but now I am intrigued to check them out both!

Speaking of Lars von Trier it would be wonderful if we can get Dogville, Manderlay, and Breaking the Waves on BD (uncut versions of course).

So other than the four titles I posted, there are none others that are scheduled for a release? I guess Das Boot is the only one that may get a release later this year. Still no schedule for that.

I wonder when Concorde, Constantin Film, Herbst and Universal Deutschland (am I missing any other major German film studios?) are going to start announcing German-made titles. I wonder if they will at all before 2008 is over.

^ Bist du Deutscher? What's wrong with Keino? I like Til Schweiger but I haven't seen many of him films. Is Die Welle good? It got high ratings on IMDB.

No official announcement on the subtitles... I heard that the DVD is slated to have English subs which would be the same for the BD. I hope it has English subs too. I would like to show it to my friends if it is a good film.

I forgot to mention one more title:

Der Rote Baron
22 August, 2008.

Anyone know if that film is good? Til is also in it. It's a film about WWII.

Oh, and for something rather unrelated. It looks like Germany will be the first country to have a Russian BD release:

19 September

Yeah, i am German. Keinohrhasen, though i admit i haven't seen it, got very bad reviews all around for being a rather uninspired and unoriginal romantic comedy. For some reason this doesn't reflect in the rather high imdb rating. I am not a fan of Til Schweiger, in fact he has been pretty annoying for me in each and every film i have seen him in, so this might also explain my bias against the film.

Die Welle is very good, looking forward to it.

They are awesome German films that you mentioned here.
Me too I understand German but it would be way better to have English taglines for my husband for example
What do you think about the German film which is nominated for the oscar now "Revanche"?

Austrian film, and it has German and Russian parts if I remember, it is good apparently (although it has to be to be up for nomination).
