I would set all the dB outputs for all your speakers to 0. Start a test tone with the left front and turn the volume up so the SPL meter reads 75dB or 80dB (whichever ur preference is). Then move to each speaker around the room and match the volume levels with your first. You can start with whichever speaker you prefer, it really doesn't matter.

You have to keep the SPL meter in the same place the whole time. Don't move it around. You want to keep it in the "average listening position".

I set it to C weighting and then turned the big knob to like 60 or whatever, then put the receiver to 52 volume or so, about average where we have it for movies, usually around 50, then started with the first speaker, I didnt set it to 0 db but left it at the setting the Audessy put it at, the meter read 65db I believe. Then I moved to the next speaker and adjusted it on the receiver until the meter read about the same and did that for the rest of the speakers just pointing the meter at each speaker and rotating the meter in place. So I guess its calibrated then? Everything sounds pretty even or whatever during movies I guess.

Going through the calibration has made my sub worse, before I hooked up the sub after running the calibration since thats when I got it, and now calibrating the system with a sub has made the sub not sound as good. It seems it takes more bass in the movie to set it off now. The stupid audessy thing set the sub volume to -6, which I dont understand, I put it to +6 and now it gives off bass.
