I knew better than to bite on Brave given the reviews versus my personal taste but got caught up in Black Friday week fever and the lightning deals. Figured the PQ would overcome. Nope, I was bored to tears. I gave it to a buddy of mine that is much more of an animation fan so not a total loss.

The only time I kick myself for buying something is when I see it much cheaper than what I paid! Even for blind buys that I didn't really enjoy I don't fuss about because most of the time they are just a bit more than what a rental would have been.

I'd say I have more regrets on passing up deals thinking I'd get it alter then they go OOP or shoot back up in price.

If you were paying attention to the end, a whole bunch of civilians are implied to have been killed. Realistically and even for a comic book movie, it's impossible for no one during the city attack to have gone unscathed.

As for what I regret buying, Speed Racer. Biggest POS I've seen in a long time. It's cheesy as hell and can't decide if it's a kids movie or not. Granted only 7-8 dollars were paid for it but somehow I still feel it was a colossal waste.

First I would say 3D movies that are a blind buy or movies that I thought were ok or didn't like. This would include Prometheus, Clash of the Titans, Immortals, 3 Musketeers and Hotel Transylvania.

When you have 600 dvds you don't have time to watch them all. I thought when bluray came along I wouldn't upgrade any titles and be more selective with purchases. But I ended up replacing alot of titles and in some cases they were for movies I thought were ok, but they aren't my favorites. So I ended up buying movies I probably really won't watch again. So I wish I only bought bluray movies I really liked.

A few off the top of my head, solely my opinion of course..

CLOVERFIELD: day one blind buy and didn't watch it till like a year later, Movie made me nauseous and I found the camera guy annoying, lol.

GHOST RIDER SOV, I had the empty steelbook and decided to fill it... Mistake, lol.

BRIDESMAIDS: friends hyped it up to be freakin hilarious so I blind bought... a few chuckles at best, not that funny.

TRANSFORMERS ROF: I am a HUGE transformers fan, I own all the rhino seasons as well as multiple copies of the animated feature film and I tell you that I ONLY bought this because I'm a completionist. This movie was utter $h!t, storyline was garbage and the choice of villain was a joke. Original transformer lore was MASHED with Hollywood writing and DRENCHED in Michael Bay explosions. I know it's only my opinion.. but STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVIE!

Because I am obsessive-compulsive. If you'll notice, my kids' DVDs are listed too.

It's not poorly written. It's just that Reynolds was about the worst choice.

It was a total loss, because you've gave it away. If you would've sold it, and recoup part of your money back, then it would have been different.

After going through my collection, this is really the only one I could find that I really regret buying. I didn't know that at the time as I had bought it because I like Leonardo DiCaprio. Not until I watched it did I regret it. I just found it really boring and anti-climatic.

OMG I LOVE sucker punch! It's a really good movie, you should atleast watch it once.

The Pianist Studio Canal Collection

On DVD it was one of the most beautiful looking films I saw in recent memory. The transfer of the blu-ray was so bad that the film started to look ugly fom the first frame. Blocky Low Res Grain, SD like Detail, Very Bad Edge Enhancement, DNR only on the faces!!!, with the backgrounds having the blocky grain. This is the poster child for how a film can be destroyed by a crap transfer. I am hopeless for a good release, as bloody Universal has the rights in the US and Studio Canal used the same transfer all over the world.

I always buy movies I enjoy. I'm trying to build my collection as well but If there is a movie in my collection I grow out of. I still keep it because someone else could enjoy it. It also shows me my taste in movies at a certain point in my life but I also collection movie that I may not enjoy but I know others will. For example, not a fan of any of the Twilight movies but my sister is... So I buy them in the best version so when she is around she can enjoy (gonna wait awhile before I buy it though, lol)
