Australia Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Film - Distributor?

I bought this movie from EzyDVD many years ago and it doesn't even say on the cover who the distributor was. When I bought it, it wasn't listed on any DVD websites.

This doesn't have a scheduled Australian blu release, so it didn't really need it's own thread. I don't know about the local DVD release, but it is available on blu in the U.S in a trilogy and quadrilogy boxset, and is distributed by WB, which I assume would be the same if it was ever released here.

When we get the DVD in at work it comes in a generic box as if no one even owns it. Took years to come out. The cover is dodgy as.

^ Yeah I checked that, a company by the name of 'Duke' is the Australian distributor of the 1st movie on DVD, and 20th Century Fox are the Australian distributors of the 2nd and 3rd films on DVD. So if they were ever released here on blu, Fox would probably be the distributor not WB like the U.S.

I have the region free Blu-ray box and have only watched the first movie so far as I haven't had much motivation to continue. The first movie is one of my worst looking releases purchased to date. I played them side by side with my US released DVD and they are almost identical. It is seriously pathetic. I was told they get better

In the distributor list for database entries, the only one saying "Duke" is "Duke Marketing".

Looking at the Devoted DVD website, it looks like the copy I have was released by L.A. Entertainment in 2008.

The original 3 are now available in a triple pack without the 2007 TMNT movie included, so if you don't want the pizza box then buy this version.

Would be nice if I lived in the U.S. and could walk into a Walmart and buy this.

JB actually had it in stock on Monday the 28th of Jan. It's from some small local nobody distributor which explains the high price of $24.98. I would be interested to see how it weighs up against the U.S Warner disc, I'll purchase it once it hits $15.98 as a maximum, which is realistically what I should have been priced at upon release.

You may want to rethink buying it. Sounds like a woeful disc:

Just a tip : Whats stated on cover is incorrect.

- No 5.1 at all - it's Dolby 2.0. (although it states TrueHD & Dolby 5.1)
- There's no scene track markers to skip (if you attempt it goes to the only bonus feature - the trailer)
- the pics on back cover are from the 3rd film
- Transfer is pretty lousy - but if ported from the U.S master, it makes bit of sense as it has an early Warner/New line look. But as I don't have the U.S release I cannot confirm - guess I'll be getting it now though.
- Local distributor is JL Entertainment

If any other info needed let me know. Just wanted to give heads up, as If I would have known myself - I would not have purchased.
All sounds dodgy. It'd be hard to beat the US disc unless the film was completely remastered. Even then it wouldn't yield huge results - it was a low budgeted film and is very grainy and dark anyway.

Sure does. I might ask the DVD manager about it at my local JB, since he bought it. He has the U.S disc as well.

That would be cool, I am wondering what I should pick up. I might just go with the US trilogy pack..

The movie was originally recorded in stereo.
