Second Sight have already announced it, along with II and III. I'm guessing Metrodome are the distribution company they use? The Steelbook news is most welcome though.

Yeah that's correct. I think they're both under Sony as well (Sony logo is on the email anyway!)

Great - love this movie so much.

Saw it in the cinema as a youngster (at a special all night movie show) and always catch on the TV.

With the release of Scanners & Lifeforce we just need the Keep to complete my fave 80's movies

Good luck on The Keep. It'd be nice indeed...but...unlikely.

btw Just ordered the new German Scanners a couple of days ago...screenshots looked great, hopefully this UK version will look as good.

LOL on the Keep I know... but we could always wish so hard it came true...

All I have are various off-air versions on a digi-box. Both are via Film4 (the recent one before Xmas and one from around 2002). Such a shame there isn't even a real DVD of it.

Would love to see the original version and not the hacked studio cut. But, I think it's a movie Mann has wiped from his history.

Neat. My head just exploded.

I really like Cronenberg's earlier films and Existenz is one of my all time favourites. I found a great website on Canada's B-Movies. Its called Canuxploitation.com.

My understanding is that the issue/problem is the music rights. Any dvd or bd release will have to make a payout either to Tangerine Dream, or to a record label (or labels) which will make any release pretty much unprofitable. Shame.

Why do people post Steelbook threads in the wrong section? There's a separate section for a reason surprisingly enough

I guess if the title is only released in a Steelbook™ version then non-Steelbook BD collectors would never know about it unless they ventured into the Steelbook section, so having it in the regular section is a good idea even if the 1st post is just a link to the Steelbook thread.

+1 - I only buy an occasional Steelbook and I'd have completely missed out on this release if it hadn't have been posted here

The Steelbook forum is for discussing packaging. The Blu-ray forums are for discussing Blu-rays.

Glad you found use for it! I too think that all UK release news should be discussed here if it's for a film that's new to the format. This is the only blu-ray Scanners release for the UK, which is why it's posted here.

Scanners II and III are going to be released as two separate amarays for now. I do have a poster of it on an email, but I haven't a clue how to get it up on here. It's a PDF.

You can add .pdf files with the attachment tab but I'm not sure what the size restrictions are. Otherwise it's copying the image out of Adobe Reader (Copy File To Clipboard) and saving it as a .jpeg in Photoshop.
