I hate it when actors get replaced, it messes with the continuity. I don't care how old they are, I hope all three come back! Since Ford already is the other two practically have to!

He is more than just those films.

As for questions, he is 61 years old and has been a voice actor for the majority of his career. Does this look like a man quick to get in shape? Most likely he is deciding whether he wants to put in the physical work and whether his body can handle it.

[Show spoiler]
Please his voice acting is nothing compared to the popularity and financial success he gained from the Star Wars films. That's just a fact.
Don't get me wrong, I like his work as the Joker, but my opinion remains the same.
Star Wars gave him everything he has today. Creative writing can circumvent any physical liabilities he might have. Heck if Stallone/Arnie & company can limp around in Expendables, I think Hamill can hop on a treadmill for the next 2 years.
IMO, it's the least he could do for the franchise that put him on the map.

THIS BLOWS that Harrison Ford is coming back as an OLD Han Solo.
He will certainly die in the 7th episode.

100% for sure. I even bet that he will be the catalyst for this children(who are now Jedi), to defend their father honor.

The same could be argued about Ford. Before Star Wars, he was being back-up, of back-up in a few minor roles.

We all agree that Indiana Jones was what made him into a clear, leading man, however he wouldn't have even got that shot without Star Wars. I do know that he almost didn't get the job, because of Star Wars, however he did, and the rest is history.

Not knocking Ford, however from a pay perspective and respect... Hamill should be equal to him, for this franchise.

I would too - if they can throw $10 million a flick at some useless hack like Jennifer Aniston or Cameron Diaz, they pay Fisher for whats one of themost iconic and important roles in film history. C'mon.

Whatever happens they MUST have the original three in the at least the first film or it will ruin it forever. Dont go replacing one of them with someone else. That KILLS it right off the bat.

You're right. The character can't be in the movie if the original actor don't play them.

I don't think you can have this movie without Luke. Luke is the source of the Force knowledge for that time, so you must have him as a teacher.

I would say he is more important than Solo.

Fisher would be nice to have, but not necesssary IMO. But Hamill...gheeesh, what a clown.

And I'm as big a fan as they come.

It's HIS life, and he can do what he wants. He owes us or SW nothing.

I really don't get this mentality.

People who say that Hamill owes everything he has to Star Wars should go tell their boss that they will work the next year for free.

I think people are reading a lot of negativity into Mark having questions about the project, when it seems pretty innocent to me, as in he'd want to know what he's in for, what kind of physical conditioning he would need to do, what he'd be doing in the film, if it's a three-picture deal or only one, etc.

I never said he owes 'us', I said he owes the franchise. He should take a queue from Ford, a much more sucessful actor, who is already signed on.
What is Hamill waiting for another Joker dub? C'mon, please.

That would only make sense if someone said Hamill should work for free.
I know I certainly did not. Try to keep up.

Never said it was. I only said that he is more than those films, which he is.

And you do realize that whatever Stallone and Arnold did is irrelevent? Physical ability goes way beyond age. Toby Maguire, a young man, had a bad back injury before Spiderman 2 and had trouble getting in shape for the next two films and grew to dislike the role because of it. You don't have any idea what shape Hamill's body is in. Maybe he fell in the shower 3 years ago and working out flares up a bad disc in his neck. He could have arthritis or just general wear and tear that makes working out more trouble than it is worth. If he doesn't want to return that is his business. Having said that, he will return in some capacity. This is Disney and they will get him back if they really do want him. They will accomodate him somehow.

Who is using fragments? If the reports are to be trusted Ford is signed on...which is more than can be said about Hamill & Fisher.

Ford has bigger bills to pay.

Hamill is waiting to see what type of character he is written into. If its a "Simple Jack" type he'll probably pass, cause that is who he looks like.

I think the odds are IF Hamill signs on, he'll be the new Jedi Master at the Jedi Temple(new or old). Now the question is, will he be travelling around? If so, how much? etc etc.
I don't think the writers are going to write him an impossible character to become(he does have prior experience with said character ). Also the producers wouldn't want that either as they need this film to do well to very well.
I would like Hamill to reprise his role of Luke, but if he bails, I just think it could deliver a huge plot hole that would have to be written around. As opposed to not having to adjust the writing if he did sign on. Fisher, could be much easier to work around(died in child birth like her mother, etc).
If anything it would fitting to have Luke there to "pass the torch", unless he REALLY signs on and starts looking like the Emporer by Episode IX.

Because you haven't heard about it, that means it hasn't happened? Not to be Captain Logic...but a whole lot of things are going on with Disney and Star Wars right now that they're not going to announce until they're ready.

I understand that...I'm only talking about what I have heard: Ford(Yes), Hamill(Undecided), Fisher(Undecided). I can't break it down any further than that.

I know...but this is a dangerous time...when you will be tempted by the Dark Side of Speculation. To Ernest, should you listen. Patience!
