2014, seriously? Ugh, I can't stand the wait! This is one of my most-wanted titles.

Criterion's edition will still be the one to get even when TT releases it.

Probably because TT waits for HD remasters, especially from Sony, since that studio is now committed to 4k scanning and workflow even for 1080p Blu-ray.

Is Going to be hard to get this Title for all of us.

(Unless SAE have some kind of "Respect" since the beginning and Limit "1" COPY PER CUSTOMER!)

Criterion isn't releasing this one. They have the 1958 version, we're talking about the 1988 remake.

Is the demand for this movie really that high? I mean it's decent, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original, IMO. Plus the DVD can be had for around 5$; a thirty dollar release for this movie seems a little overkill.

Well since it will be limited to 3000 copies it will be in high demand. Never underestimate the buying power of a horror film collector.

So looking forward to this release! I've never seen the original "The Blob". I'll probably blind buy it. It looks like fun

Argh, another classic getting a limited release. I really like the 80s version, sucks that Twilight Time got release rights for it.

I was going to suggest TT adopt a one-copy-per-customer policy for the first 3 day period after the preorder hits, based on people's IP addresses, but after reading that they basically just want the stuff to sell and don't care to whom or how many copies each person gets, I suppose it would be a moot point. I feel bad for the people who missed out. Maybe for the next selling frenzy I'll purchase several copies to give out free to those that are not able to grab one themselves for whatever reason.

You really feel the need to ask this after what we just went through on Friday?

Yes, it's certainly high enough to sell out 3000 discs quickly.

I'm surprised by all the love this film gets here, I used to think I was the only one who liked it (and where I grew up, I pretty much was). That said, it shouldn't sell out as quick as Christine unless old and new speculators return en mass and no copy limit is set.

I want to see TT test this new "horror theory" (that all horror will sell out fast to rabid fans). Try putting out something like "Night of a 1000 Cats" (real dvd title, I can speak and spell) or "Tintorera" or "Mako: Jaws of Death", something that just sucks ass and is hated by even most horror fans. Put one of those titles out and if that sells out, then we'll know any horror title will! Fright Night, NOTLD 90 and Christine are all great films IMO, so is Blob 88. These selling out is expected. I doubt they'd sell 500 Night of a 1000 Cats even if I bought 2!
